Why do we have to constantly pay $25 for a background check when the people that’s hiring us want to check our background, why they can’t pay? We looking for a job what makes y’all think we have that to just give then what if we don’t get the job ? Still $25 gone , it should be free for people looking for employment & the company hiring should pay

Worst customer service experience
Moving job is a stressful experience, and Sterling made this process all the more stressful.
The level of customer service I received was horrendous. On four separate occasions I sent emails containing questions, with all these questions remaining unanswered as they haven't even had the decency to respond.
I wouldn't even waste your time trying to contact them by telephone either, as the call handler I spoke to couldn't identify any information about my case despite providing her with my email address and the email chain references.

International Education Verification
The slowest verification process I have ever experienced for my international Education. I have provided all the necessary information including US Equivalent Education Documentation from WES and still no completion for my background check.

These people don't know what they are…
These people don't know what they are doing. I cannot get past the address check because their website insists my dates are wrong, when I reached out to customer service with my issue and screenshots THEY LITERALLY COPIED AND PASTED their directions to ANOTHER website. They insist I fill out my dates with MM/DD/YY format, however their website doesn't allow this, it only allows YY/MM/DD. When I pointed this out to me Kaths asked me FOR SCREENSHOTS. These people are so unprofessional, I've had this issue for over a week and all they're able to do is repeat instructions and ask for materials already attached to the email.

Must read to those looking to engage their service!
To those looking to engage professional, independent, reliable and efficient background due diligence service provider, avoid sterling risq..because they have none of the qualities.
Some, amongst many ridiculousness, unexpected and unacceptable from a professional “subject matter expert” in background check:
1. Messy, unorganized strategy, blatant lack of plan or diligence in handling every case. Multiple requests for additional information, which could be consolidated if reviewer actually does thorough, end-to-end, diligently check all information provided to compile gaps..instead, the manner of haphazard requests suggest with conviction that reviewer simply perform partial checks, pushes the ball back to subject’s court with “insufficient information” excuse, and delay the due diligence check progress…potential client, is this the kind of professionalism that your company is willing to pay for?
2. Enquiring information that are Irrelevant to subject’s current scope of work. Pretext, candidate provided professional bodies certificates, unique membership identifier, institution which granted the certification, signed consent to verify certification with the institution.
With such powerful combination of arsenal, it is unacceptable that sterling risq still couldn’t verify the certification and have to insist on information such as campus the subject undertook with, failing to respond would constitute recalcitrant..on a certification that was acquired almost 2 decades ago. I emphasise, 2 decades ago.
Does this appear to be a competent professional background checker?
Echoing multiple bad reviews published, independently, my personal experience with sterling risq is they are incompetent, overrated and their deliverables quality does not justify the cost paid to engaging their “professional” service. I could do more with Google searches, at faster turnaround time, and certainly way more when a lot of proprietary information was provided.
1 word to summarise, incompetence.

If I could give this company a negative…
If I could give this company a negative star I would. They are incompetent and dysfunctional.
I don’t know how many people remember the first date and last date of a job done well over 10 years or even 4 years ago.
Most people get contract jobs with agencies your form does not allow company/agency name. Also if I work for a company of which I got the job with an agent do you expect my Cv to carry both names? My cv has months/years and not day given why is this a crime when exact days were given on your forms.
Staff mannerism, form and services is appalling
