This company (Sterling )is topping the list of Incompetence and interest in service. In the Nordics they have no clue how what public docs look like or how to translate basic public documents. To top it they process one thing at the time in stead of asking for everything as once. I'm surprised that a company like this can stay in business....

This company takes so long when it comes to getting a background check done. I have done FBI backgrounds and fingerprints that never take as long as this company. It's sad that they keep saying it a certain county that stopping my background but when I call the county they turned in all the stuff and even the time when they sent it to sterling. You guys are making it hard for a single mother of 2 to get back on her feet with how long you take.

CLUELESS! this company calls continually for the same ex employee. over seas call center they no idea what they are doing or what they have done. your caller idea comes up with either 212-736-5100 or an 888# this is them. hard to hear, digital delay in conversation.

Future employer in the UK use this lot for background checks. Every email i have had from Sterling has been from individuals in India. Anyone spot the issue yet? Outsourcing background checks to India is not a safe practice for Western security conscious countries. Emails from these individuals are a Google translate at best and a copy and paste from a script at worst. The data requested to carry out a background check has been significant and every document going for past employment has been requested including military career with pay stubs being requested along with terms of service etc the list goes on. I would not sign any document giving them access to apply for your data when they have no diligence for data security by outsourcing to questionable countries to put it mildly. It seems they want to go above and beyond providing a background check, which seems to be applicant sourced information and documents and I do not believe they have any authority to conduct background checks with relevant database providers. Seems to be an office in Swansea but no one appears to work from there. I would not provide too much data, which is not required, as you will likely end up with a stolen identity or plagued with cold calling for years and data copied from the system and sold into the fraudulent activities emanating from India. Sterling really do need to deal with this to gain any credibility in this space. Nearly forgot to mention check out the recent 5 star reviews, the grammatical errors, the location, the names well just everything and decide whether these look real as others have mentioned. Oh plus these ones have been invited to leave feedback.

Total scum. My background check for a office inside sales role had been undertaken for 4 weeks. I have provided all my info including pay slips, employment letters and criminal check. They asked me to pay 40 dollars. I have emailed 4 times for an update with no response to the progress. My start date has been postponed past my offer letter because of this stupid company. What the hell are they doing!!! Total fools. I have lost income because of this.

Had to apply for a police clearance by myself (50 euro) and wait 5 months in total to proceed with the background check. The employee most likely used google translate to write his responses and I had to go through a dozen emails each time before I could understand what's expected of me.

Please train your staff in the very basics. Told numerous times by incompetent staff Irish citizens need a share code to prove right to work in the UK, after already uploading Irish passport. Draining experience, and you are supposed to be the experts.

Absolute terrible company, was made to do a background check by an potential employer, while having a current employment. They contacted my current employer, some out sourced person from the Phillipines, with no professionalism at all, which resulted in loosing my job and not getting the one I applied for. They gave a lot of oh well its not are fault, they also refuse to send me the results, saying it's company policy, even though they have all my personal information.... what a bunch of horrible people that work there, no class, no proffesionalism, cheap outsourced labor to do the work from uneducated outsourced workers. All they ask is defimation of character questions to provide to the potential new employer, not taking into account what type of employment contract the candidate has. I would be embarrassed if this was the company I worked for. Ruined my life in a time where getting an employment is extremely difficult.
