Staylime caused damages of over $100,000
Our experience with Staylime has been deeply disappointing and costly. The project—originally a Magento 1 to Magento 2 migration—was estimated to take 2–3 months, but nearly a year later, we are terminating the collaboration due to persistent, unresolved issues. The delivered work contained numerous errors and resulted in damages exceeding $100,000. Despite multiple attempts to communicate through email and messaging platforms, the team was largely unresponsive and failed to demonstrate accountability or initiative in resolving problems. Their poor communication and lack of ownership severely undermined trust. The initial quote was deceptively low at $3,000–$4,000, but the project was soon burdened with repeated and unjustified requests for additional payments. On top of this, integrations with third-party applications were mismanaged, compounding the technical challenges. Unfortunately, we are now forced to engage another agency to salvage the project—a task made more difficult by the current disarray of the site. What was promised as a straightforward migration has turned into an ongoing and costly ordeal.

Giovanni, we appreciate all feedback and strive to address concerns professionally. However, we must clarify that your review is misleading. From the very beginning, you knew the project’s complexities and had acknowledged past failed attempts with other agencies. Our team provided a detailed proposal, including a fixed-price option of $48,320, but you opted for a step-by-step T&M model, approving and funding each task separately. You refer to unsubstantiated damages while omitting the fact that your company paid $6,430.60 in total—a figure that simply does not support such claims. As the project progressed, tasks were completed strictly within the approved scope and budget. Potential issues related to third-party solutions were explicitly noted as out of scope, and you were informed that addressing them would incur extra costs. After the initial data migration, you involved third-party vendors to reduce costs. Unfortunately, they made changes without using version control, causing repeated disruptions and compatibility issues. As challenges emerged, you became increasingly frustrated with the evolving scope and associated costs, shifting responsibility to us as though we had agreed to a fixed-price turnkey project. This escalated into unfounded accusations, demands for unpaid work, and pressure tactics. When those demands were not met, you requested a final delta migration, source files, and a detailed report—all of which we delivered. You then revoked access and initiated multiple PayPal disputes in an attempt to recover all payments, despite the services being delivered as agreed. The disputes we successfully defended further validate that our work was delivered as agreed and that your claims lacked merit. The results of our work remain in use on your project. We also note that you’ve since posted negative reviews about other Magento companies who worked on the same project. These include providers with long-standing reputations in the industry and suggest a concerning pattern of pressuring vendors to deliver unpaid work under threat of reputational damage. We regret that the experience didn’t meet your expectations. That said, we remain confident in the professionalism of our team and the quality of the work delivered. After 15 years in this industry, we continue to focus on transparency, fairness, and long-term client success. While every project has challenges, we stand behind the quality and remain dedicated to the people who bring them to life.
