This website is a fraud. They will respond to this review stating that their fees are laid out well and they are well displayed, but they are not. They do not show their fees in full and when you figure out they are a fraud it is too late, they will charge you to "change your registered agent" because they have filed your business name and are holding it hostage. Their site states it take 1-3 days and offers a fee to expedite. It has been a week and none of the work has come back/does not seem to be done. They ARE a fraud regardless of what their reply to this message is. Run for the hills. They are not a government site even though masquerade as such. I will do everything in my power to burn them to the ground unless they refund my money. Everyone should. They are a terrorist organization who holds your information hostage. Probably not even in the US. If you "call the agent" it goes straight to voicemail. I cannot be convinced otherwise. They pay for ads so that they appear to be a state website and unsuspecting people click on it because it ALWAYS APPEARS ABOVE THE STATE WEBSITE (meaning .gov). I demand a refund. Immediately. I will go to the goverment with this and pursue justice to the full extent of the law and then some. "State Filings", YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!!

Do not use State Filings, they make their site look like a government site, then they hide fees and charge you fees that you are unaware of. The site claims to only charge you for the filling for $99 but then charge an additional $379 for fees that were not initially agreed upon. Don't use this service.

I wanted to register an LLC, and I mistakenly selected State Filings.com because the name sounded like a government entity. Unbeknownst to me, they are just a third party looking to do it for you and cash in on your ignorance. That is how State Filings initially totaled $149+$20 of State fees as the cost of filing. So, I entered my credit card information for $166. Turned out that my State rejected my application on a technicality and State Filings.com notified me of it. When I checked my bank statement, it showed that State Filings.com had charged me $269 and another $199 a couple of days later, for a total of $468. I called them and spoke to a certain Casey, who insisted that my total when I paid was showing $149 plus 120 for Sate fees and not $149 plus $20 for State fees which I had seen. About the other $199 which they later charged, she said it was for the services of a local registered agent to receive correspondences on my behalf and forward to me, which was proposed and which I did not decline. She said because my application had been rejected, she was going to initiate a refund of all money collected from me except $120 which are non-refundable State fees that my State was withholding. I called the secretary of State's office to enquire and was told that the filing fee for an LLC is $100 and that there was no such thing as a nonrefundable fee for an electronic application. I then emailed State Filings.com with an ultimatum to refund the $120 but they kept quiet. Only after I disputed the transaction with my bank, were they compelled to issue the refund back to my credit card. I can't say this loud enough: stay far away from State Filings.com! This is a dishonest, dishonorable, and fraudulent business looking to prey on innocent people trying to do business with their State. Their name is purposefully misleading, and they hope people would mistake them for an actual government website or platform. Don't be their next victim.

When I found this site, I read that I would be charged $149 +$216 for state fees, which is a total of $365. That day I submitted my application I was charged the $365. I was also charge $193. And then after my application was approved I was charged another $199 (which was actually the state fee). I missed the part where state filings was an agent. I thought I was applying directly to the state of Washington. I'm still unclear exactly what I paid for.

I would give this company 0 stars if I could. They are a fraud company. The website said it would only be $99 dollars to file for my business and the charged my account $269. I placed an inquiry about a refund and they told me that was not possible. I let the issue go because I tried looking at the bigger picture that my business was filed. Yesterday they charged my account $199 for updating an agent address without my authorization!! Please Please do NOT use this company

Scammers scamming fraudulent 3rd party site looks legit like the Illinois. Gov. Charged over almost a total of 600 dollars for something that was supposed to cost 150. Called to cancel immediately and was told that an account manager would review my case when it comes across their Que. Of course they took the money out of my account and 3 weeks later still told that I had to wait for an account manager. It’s sites like this that often make the internet a bad place. Yes I clicked on boxes trusting that they were in good standards but very much Fraudulent.

I thought (my mistake) that they were attached to my state and not a third-party company. I filled out all the info and made sure that I was only paying $99 for the process. Got two emails that didn't look like a government email and more like a cheap company email. I then observed $199 taken out, then the next day $249 pending. I quickly called the company to speak to someone with a poor English accent and was advised that they were pushing my complaint to some other department. I then researched and found lots of suspicious alerts for the company. Then went to bank to dispute the charges. Update!!!!!! On 9/17/25 a refund was issued but I also had to get my bank to disagree with the charges. I also had to get a different llc name because the original name I came up with was glitched with your company. I did finally speak with a professional employee after calling back again and she sent me images of the fine details that had to be blown up and highlighted for a normal person to see. Either way good luck in the future and make the hidden added charges more obvious. Good day.

Do not use them!! They do not know what they are doing. They submitted my LLC to the state so many times (because of their errors) that the state called me personally and tried to figure out what they were doing. Fee is non refundable once application is submitted to state. I paid for a mess, that I had to navigate and fix.
