Stape provides an easy plug-and-play solution for the Meta CAPI Gateway, and many of our clients have had positive experiences. Based on our review of your setup, we found that your Meta Pixel was not properly implemented on your site, which is why the server-side tracking wasn't able to send events to Meta. We also communicated this issue to you. Meta CAPI Gateway works in conjunction with your Pixel, sending additional server-side events based on the data your Pixel collects. Since your Pixel wasn’t firing, the CAPI Gateway had no data to process, which led to the issue you described. If needed, our Stape Care team can assist with a detailed audit of your current setup. You are correct in noting that the issue was reported to our development team, and they are actively working on resolving it. We apologize for the delay and understand your concern regarding the timeline. Regarding the migration suggestion, our support team provided an alternative solution, and we requested further clarification on this matter. This was because we had only received the email address for “Account A” and not the email for “Account B”, which was crucial to ensure the correct migration. We’re glad that we could move forward with your request once the necessary details were clarified. Regarding the annual subscription, we have thoroughly reviewed the tickets, and at no point did our team suggest or request that you pay for an additional annual subscription. Our team offered you two options: (1) to connect your Pixel to the existing paid Meta CAPI Gateway, and remove the one without an active subscription, or (2) to receive a full refund and connect to a new Meta CAPI Gateway. There was never any intention or even a hint to ask you to pay for two subscriptions. Please be assured that we are here to support you and resolve any remaining issues. Regarding your question: “Why do I need to purchase additional Shopify features just to implement new customer data in Google Ads?” – This is a limitation of Shopify. You can verify this in Shopify’s documentation on the Pixel API. Specifically, the parameter order - customer - isFirstOrder is outlined here: https://shopify.dev/docs/api/web-pixels-api/standard-events/checkout_completed. We use the official API, which works stably and great (but unfortunately, it has some limitations). As a result, competitors may implement it using makeshift methods, causing the entire data layer to function incorrectly. So please take this into account, as it is at your own risk.
