I used a certificate I received from a previous order of bareroot crape myrtles that were dead on receipts for a new order of hydrangeas. I placed my order in early May and it was scheduled to ship within two weeks. I was already a bit nervous about that as I'm in Zone 8A and it gets really hot here but I was prepared to water them daily to keep them alive through summer. It's now July 28th and I've received nothing, not even an email stating there's been a delay. I've checked the website every single week and every week, the shipping time has been delayed. At this point, I'm doubting that I'll ever get my plants. I'm going to try again to reach customer service but I'm not holding my breath on that either.

Plants still not here months later
I ordered 4 plants in February. It is now July and 2 of them have arrived. I called in May (at which point I only had one), and was told all the rest would be here by June. There was no information given about delays prior to my calls; when I call the shipping date is given over the phone that is much later than what was communicated earlier (in this case they're now saying September). Of the two plants I've received, neither has survived. So I canceled the other two; but was told over the phone the "team" would have to process that...we shall see.

DO NOT ORDER from this place
DO NOT ORDER from this place. My wife places an order for a few plants months ago. When they never arrived in season, she requested a refund immediately. Since then, she has contacted them multiple times and still has not received a refund. So far, we have received one dead as hell plant with possibly more on the way. Horrendous customer service and business etiquette. If I could give 0 stars, I would. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS BUSINESS.

2 different orders a complete bust
Two Spring Hill orders this year and neither good experience, neither ended up with a living plant: 1. Ordered black bat flower in Feb for Valentine's gift, put on back order twice, this week (June) notified by credit card company that I had gotten refund. Spring Hill never notified me that order cancelled.. 2. Ordered Standing Ovation little bluestem plant in April, plant rec'd was tiny, mostly brown with three tinier green shoots, entire plant turned brown, dried up and died soon after planting, despite regular watering, good care.

Ordered 5 arborvitae from Springhill…
Ordered 5 arborvitae from Springhill because of the promise of the warrenty. 4 didn't make it. I asked them to follow through on the warranty. They gave me the run around for 2 months, asking for PDFs of the dead plants, then saying pictures weren't coming through. I tried multiple times. It's almost like a bot is handling their email. I never got replacements or reimbursement. Basically I am out a few hundred dollars. It may look like a good deal, but don't order from this place.

Ordered bare root plants
Ordered bare root plants, in Feb 2026, received them in zone 9, after about 2 weeks. They were just small bare sticks with only a couple of bare roots. Neither have done well, mostly dead now. Their customer service keeps giving run around, claiming different departments are reviewing. Don't order from here, and don't use PayPal. I tried to get refund through PayPal, and they say doesn't qualify for PayPal refund, have to go through a different process. Seems like you get screwed by both Spring Hill and Spring hill on this one. Lesson learned

Do not shop here!
Purchased 540 dollars worth of plants in March. One red bud tree (199.99 plus tax, bare root) and 15 dappled willow bushes, (3 hedges, five plants each) for another 299.98 plus tax.
I received 12 of the 15 willows. Of the 12 they sent, 4 were totally dead and never showed signs of life. The tree came dead as well, and the crispy dry roots didn’t take off at all after being properly planted. I’ve never been unsuccessful with bare root planting and know what I’m doing.
They could not replace the missing and dead willows because they were sold out, so I asked for a refund and bought everything from Lowe’s. They agreed to refund me in full.
(Lowe’s gave me 15 large dappled willow shrubs, already alive and massive in comparison, same price. What’s the value in their bare root even if it comes alive and well??. I replaced the 200 dollar red bud for 80 bucks, again for a larger living tree,)
They promised me a full refund in April. They “accidentally” send a gift certificate for the willows, and it was 90 dollars short. I called again, they apologized and said it would take ten business days just to cancel the gift certificate and at that time they would reissue me a check for that portion of the refund. The 200 dollars from the tree refund was promised to my debit card immediately. I would receive a check for the refund that was mistakenly sent as a gift certificate but it would still be 90 dollars short and no one could tell me why. It was supposed to be in full.
Many follow ups later, three transaction ID numbers later, I still have not received either refund. They say it’s due to their new operating system. Today is June 12th and I’ve been promised a refund since mid-April.
I finally just called my bank, who immediately gave me the money back and is now going after springhill for what’s due.
Terrible product, terrible value, terrible customer service. Despite having been around longer than Ford, I’m starting to think this place is an actual scam.
Mind you, springhill is bare root and Lowe’s is fully living plants, The tree was bare root and dead for 200 from SH, I got the same one alive for 80 from Lowe’s. The willows were 19.99 a piece at Lowe’s and springhill, (300 total) but Lowe’s sent 15 living, already beautiful shrubs. Compared to the 8 living tiny little sticks Springhill sent (which also should have been 15.)
In the end, I spent 540.00 and got NOTHING, and I’m glad I asked for emails regarding the refunds because I don’t think they ever truly meant to give one to me. Thank goodness for my bank, I wish I’d have known sooner they could help me out of this scam.
Proceed with caution, but I’d say don’t proceed at all.

never again
I wish I had seen this website before ordering. I ordered 3 rose bushes for a total of around $100 plus shipping. One bush was shipped quite quickly from within Michigan and it arrived in beautiful condition. The other two were shipped from California and they were on the road for 10 or 11 days, so I received dying plants. Never again will I order from this place.
