Three undisclosed strangers, missing cash, damage—and no accountability.
Update, October 14: Both losses remain unresolved. After weeks of correspondence, the company finally provided an insurance certificate, but directed us to submit the claim ourselves. The company still have not provided a claim number, repair arrangement, or reimbursement proposal. Regarding the $400 missing cash, they told us there was “no need to rush.” ORIGINAL REVIEW: Our first cleaning with Sparkly Maid was fine. For the second, we specifically requested the same single cleaner and were assured she would return. Instead, she arrived with three additional people who were complete strangers to us and had never been disclosed or approved. After the cleaning, we discovered two damaged bathroom fixtures and at least $400 missing from our son’s wallet. The smaller bills were left behind. We filed a Chicago Police report. We had already paid $252 and tipped the crew $80. We have never requested those payments back—only reimbursement for approximately $600 in missing cash and damage. The company acknowledged receiving our damage photographs, then later claimed we had provided no evidence. It delayed addressing the claim while insisting on telephone calls despite our request for a written record, and provided no insurance or bond claim information despite advertising that its cleaners are insured and bonded. Its final response called us emotional and unprofessional and ended with “see you in court.” Trust is the entire product when a company sends people into your home. I cannot recommend Sparkly Maid.
