A series of incompetence
My experience in moving from Israel to France has been a series of clerical and physical disasters. Clerically after a year in storage suddenly needing urgent paperwork. A form from the French consulate in Jerusalem that they say is only available to French nationals. A confirmation form from our new municipality that is non existent. Eventually we received our goods, having paid additional storage due to customs awaiting non existent documents. The shippers in France were appalled by the way boxes were stacked, often upside down, in one instance something heavy was put on top of a delicate table breaking two of the four legs. In addition to breakages there were missing items, the most difficult of which was missing keys for two locked cupboards. This meant that we had to delay unpacking and therefore missed the ten day limitation for insurance claims.
