I have spent some time struggling with what kind of rating to give to Smith.ai, because when a company seeks reviews, of course they are seeking good ones, and I certainly understand that. For us, the use of a reception service is a necessary evil. While it would be lovely to have a couple of people who actively know what it is that our firm does to answer all of our calls and are able to do actual potential client intake, hiring full-time receptionists just doesn’t fit with our current circumstances. So, we chose Smith.ai because they do market to law firms, and likely do a lot of intake for some firms. Our firm practice areas are a bit more “niche” and many of the receptionists answering the calls simply don’t understand what we do and do not handle. While we attempted at first for there to be intake involved, now the goal is simply to get contact information and a brief idea of what the caller is seeking so we can get back to the caller. I record all calls, and I find that vital for our process. There are some calls that are handled extremely well, and of course some that are handled very poorly. Overall, I am happy with the support team when I do have issues with call handling, which is important. So, I have decided to give Smith.ai an above-average rating, even though it was not the solution we were hoping for when we decided to hire a reception service.

Reasonable service for price. To be clear the AI isn't the favorite of our clients. However, it does an adequate job of capturing data from callers and forwarding them to the correct person. At this time it's an ok fit for law firms but could be better. Improvements include specifically allowing for better instructions for the AI to immediately forward court calls to the relevant attorney. The pricing on this is a little high vs. the quality of the AI but not overly high. Smith AI compensates me for this review.

Smith.ai used to be fantastic, they have been our answering service of choice for over 8 years. Within the last year their quality has declined significantly. Their departments are unorganized, there's no ownership for handling actual customer issues, response time on the back end is significantly delayed. Ironically, attempting to talk with someone who has any authority to make a decision is impossible. Simple issues and questions will go literally weeks before being properly answered, but more likely a canned or ai generated email with be received instead. *Update* Smith.ai has since done a fantastic job to help correct the issues we were experiencing, specifically when Coralyn and Christene got involved following up and continuing to ensure the accounts are updated and working correctly.

The team at Smith.ai have been great we have monthly calls with them and they are always open to changes we need for our needs and always have recommendations to make the process smooth for our clients. Smith.ai for us is a Partnership relationship which I am thankful for. I have worked with other companies and it always felt like a customer-vendor relationship but with Smith.ai it's different they truly want to partner with you to make the best experience for your clients

Smith.ai positively represents our small business by providing reliable, courteous, and prompt Customer Service to our callers. Within the last two years, we experienced a threefold increase in caller volume, due to Smith.ai consistently answering incoming calls within one to two rings. Additionally, we receive positive, Customer feedback that Smith.ai Receptionists are friendly, professional, and answer their service, related questions. Thank you Smith.ai!

Smith.Ai has been one of the best virtual receptionist experiences we have had the pleasure of using. We are renting them 4 stars because of a few factors. 1st) The account management team was hands on in the beginning and continue to provide us updates on our call volume and pricing structure. For Example: Tony , who is our account manager, emails every now and then to discuss if we want to keep on the same pricing. Structure or adjust based on how the call volume is looking and how our industry’s outlook is. That’s so important because by us giving him insight into how our remodeling company’s projected volume from one quarter to the next flows; Tony and the Smith.Ai team is better able to serve us as clients. A true partnership. 2nd, the support staff has never taken longer than 24 hours to respond to messages or feedback. They are very responsive and if there is a bigger issue; it gets addressed. We understand taking on Smith.Ai as a new service , that their will be come adjustments. Especially as they hire and train newer staff. However, the error rate has stayed extremely low. Especially with the ability to type up a document with specific instructions on how to approach different types of callers for us. This has worked out very well for us. 3rd and most important is the cost. When we looked at the overhead of bringing on an employee we had to consider all the things that go into setting that employee up for success. Equipment costs like a phone, computer, monitors ($1200 one time setup). Office space, meaning a space with a desk, internet, and lights for this actually person to conduct business ($200mo additional based on our current sqft). Software and license access ($150mo). Wages ($3750mo). Looking at those numbers and anybody who works with the business financials can see how their is an instant savings when choosing Smith.Ai. They really work hard on selling and delivering an experience of it being like having a Virtual Employee, and that’s exactly what we have experienced. Now, like mentioned previously. There are some growing pains the first few weeks with setup. We felt that there could be better collaboration and training documents for setting up the appointment booking system. For example; we chose Calendly scheduling services that allows Smith.Ai to easily book appointments for our clients. But the Calendly system has features that are locked and you can’t get the experience you need unless you unlock the higher tiers. Also, there are errors from time to time with the newer Receptionist who are learning to apply our instructions. It’s very low. We’d say maybe 1 call out of 9 a day there might be something missing or a need to follow back up with the client. However, taking all that into consideration , we love Smith.Ai’s services and the teams supporting the brand. You can’t go wrong with the cost savings and the upfront time you put in. It’s worth it.

Good virtual receptionist chat service! Increased meetings set from chat, fairly easy to set-up and maintain. Not a lot of flexibility in the chat tool and have to be clear in chat instructions but similar with other products.
