Classic bait and switch.
Classic bait and switch. Step 1: Receive mailer that you are “Preapproved” for a loan of a large number with a super low interest rate. Step 2: Have someone call you and want to share their life story and get yours so that you trust them and become mentally invested. Step 3: Tell you that you are approved for a small fraction of what the mailer said and an interest rate of 6 times what the mailer said. Step 4: They encourage you to take a “debt settlement program” where you stop paying your bills and let every account you have go derogatory, meanwhile you give them money into an account, then finally the credit card companies settle, you pay Smart Money a HEAVY premium and your credit is effed. Smart Money Capital is GARBAGE!

We’re truly sorry to hear about your negative experience and appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns. We understand how frustrating it can feel when expectations don’t match outcomes, and we take feedback like this very seriously. To clarify, our pre-approval mailers are based on a preliminary review of publicly available credit information. Final loan terms, including the amount and interest rate, are determined after a full application review, which can sometimes result in different terms than those initially advertised. We know this can be disappointing, and we apologize if this was not made clear enough. Regarding debt relief programs—these are only presented as an option for clients who may not qualify for a loan but still want a path to address overwhelming debt. We never want clients to feel pressured into a solution that doesn’t align with their goals, and we absolutely do not want anyone to feel misled about how these programs work. Your feedback highlights areas where we can improve our communication and transparency, and we’d welcome the opportunity to discuss your specific situation further. Please contact us directly at [contact information], and we’ll be happy to review your case in detail. We are committed to helping clients find the right path to financial stability—whether through lending or other debt solutions—and we regret that your experience did not reflect that. —The Smart Money Capital Team
