Low-ball you in to get business get deposit then doubled the price! Then customer service says give them chance to make it right and did nothing but get me charged for 3 more days of vehicle in impound where it was after being stolen. Needless to say I lost my 200 dollar deposit they would not refund and another 90 dollars for it sitting in impound I went to another company that gave me a price and stuck with that price unlike smart carship. Talked to manager he tells me to send 200 dollars to them for cancellation and then he would send me my refund! Cmon man i got no service from them. In the contract the only way I would have to pay cancellation fee is if they went to pick it up and something happened they couldn't which none of it happened! They did nothing but take my 200! Worst business of all things I have ever dealt with

They assigned to a driver to pick up 2 pickups for me every time I called i was told someone would be there the next morning then they would change it to afternoon before 5 and still no one showed up did the several days in a row. Once they finally got someone to show up to the pick-up location I get told its going to be a extra $150 then the qoute.

This is a bait and switch company with fraudulent business practices. They are not a shipping company. They provide brokerage services through a contact center. who hires 3rd party movers. Their business practice is to under-quote, and then closer to pick-up date to say that the quote is higher, because the driver is "grumpy" and wants more money. When you don't agree to pay more, they say they'll look for another driver - and then you'll wait for 48 - 72 hours. They'll call again and say they can't find anyone for that price. I'm now looking for another company - and fighting for a refund on the deposit. My car should be here tomorrow - instead, I'm starting from scratch. You'll know they're playing you - when they talk too fast, avoid answering your questions, and generally try to confuse you.

Initially, I received a quote from a gentleman named HENRY for $890 USD, and I deposited $190 to secure the shipment. However, the day before the scheduled pick-up, I received a call from another representative named MOHAMMED, who shockingly demanded an outrageous $2700. Being stuck in California, I simply couldn't afford such a steep increase. In a desperate attempt to gain my trust, he played on our shared faith, saying, "Bro, come on, you’re a Muslim too. I’m just trying to help you," and offered to lower the price to $1850. At that moment, I knew I was being taken advantage of, and unfortunately, I lost my initial deposit. This appears to be a deliberate strategy they employ: first, they book your shipment, take your deposit, and then try to extort double or even triple the original amount, all while keeping your hard-earned money. I've attempted to contact their San Francisco office, but my calls have gone unanswered. I reached out to the Virginia office and spoke to the manager, who promised to investigate my issue. Absolute scam. They will tell you anything to get your deposit then jack up the price. I provided exact addresses and an open time window for a car delivery - they gave me a HARD PRICE, in writing, which we agreed upon. I gave a deposit. On the day before delivery, they send driver contact and a payment link for literally 3x what was agreed upon. When I tried to decline, they said I was not able to cancel and my deposit would not be refunded. They then said they were charging me an extra $200 for late cancellation (but they never gave me the info until they day before). Absolute SCAM!! Seriously, I was quoted $585 in writing from their team, then they told me the price was $1,875. Route from Miami FL, to Long Island NY. DO NOT USE THEM - YOU CAN LITERALLY FIND ALL OF THEIR CONTACTS ON USHIP OR OTHER SITES.

I wrote a review before taking delivery of my motorcycle. These people ended up being a con. First gave me a low ball # then came back with an insane high number. But then we came to a settlement of $450. Bike was picked up, about 20 min from delivery I'm texted they want $50 more or I couldn't have my bike. Bait and switch, lie and keep your stuff hostage. Stay away.

I told a price for the transportation of my vehicle and was also told, the price wouldn't go any higher. Once my vehicle was picked up, I was called with at significant increase in the price. If you're looking for vehicle transporting, I definitely would not go through them.

On May 21St 2025 we signed a contract with Smart Carship to transport my wife’s car and my boat from California to Mississippi for $1350. The day they were supposed to get picked up they called and said they couldn’t do it for that price and wanted an additional $2 per mile x 2000 miles to haul the boat. I refused to pay and they said the driver that they had arranged to haul the boat and car wasn’t available again until July 20th. I called them on the 18th to confirm and they said someone would call me on the 21st. I had to call them and leave messages three times on the 21st and when they finally called me back the dispatcher told me that a driver would be at my house to pick up the car only for an additional $1000 charge. I once again refused to pay extra and the dispatcher Adam promised they would pick up the car and the boat on the 24th. Thursday the 24th I started calling and leaving messages around noon and a dispatcher name Nick finally called me back and said once again that they were sending a driver to pick up the car only and that it was going to cost an additional $1000. I had enough and canceled the contract and asked for my $300 deposit back and they refused. They also told me that they were going to charge my credit card an additional $200 for cancellation fee. I immediately called my credit card company and filed a dispute on the charges and had to cancel the card to keep them from continuing to charge additional fees. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. Do not use this company, they are a broker and they will lowball you on the quote and then the day of service try to increase the amount.
