Barbara and Rok provided us with two terrific days in Slovenia and Croatia, respectively. Our day with Barbara started with an orienting walk around Ljubljana that gave us some compass bearings for our later evening wanderings. Then we were off to the beautiful & fascinating Postojna Caves, iconic Predjama Castle, and a taste of earthy Teran wine and a ploughman's board at a village cafe. Easy conversation made the day pass too quickly. She reviewed our travel plans and detailed routing and sites for own day trip to Bled and Bohinj. Additionally, she convinced us to reroute our later itinerary from Zagreb to Rovinj. She listened and personalized her recommendations to fit our travel style. Rok took over for as our guide to the Istrian Coast. He shepherded us there with a great stop in the famous hill town of Motovun for lunch. He even took the time to make certain we got checked into our hotel, had the keys to our rental car and plans for the next two days. On his recommendation we went truffle hunting with a local guide, we visited the Roman ruins in Pula, spent some time at the beaches along the Rovinj coast. Once again the day with Rok, as with Barbara, was incomparably convivial and we felt blessed to have had such comfortable and insightful experiences with the two of them. Would do it again in a heartbeat!
