Save All Your Order-Related Emails Sent & Received In Case You Need Them!
Having previously bought Sloggers locally, I recently did my first online order with the company. It included 2 pairs of shoes and replacement insoles for a pair that I already own. One pair of shoes were shipped the next day. 2 days later I got an email telling me that my chosen color wouldn't be available for a "couple of weeks" and asked if I would like to switch to another color. I replied that I would wait for the original color shoes. I also mentioned that the insoles were not included in the shipment confirmation email and asked about their status. Later the same day I received a cheery reply saying that my original choice was actually available and that the shoes would "probably" be shipping that same day. There was no mention of the insoles. That was the last communication from Sloggers. There was no shipping confirmation for the second pair of shoes and the insoles. I sent several emails to 2 separate addresses for Sloggers. Still no reply. Since the entire balance was charged to my credit card the day I made my order, I opened a dispute with my bank 16 days after the order date for the overcharge. Since I had copies of all the emails and had figured out the amount owed me I was able to obtain an immediate credit with one phone call. This is the second time in recent memory that I bought something from a company that uses Shopify. Both times the businesses were unresponsive and both times I quickly received a credit. My impression is that my credit card issuer has dealt with Shopify many times under similar circumstances. Based on this experience in the future I will not be doing business with anyone who uses Shopify. Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice, shame on me!
