This is a co that does not allow customers to post reviews of the website they represent and gives the online retailer they represent great reviews. If you go to an online retailer that uses shopper reviews, run, do not purchase.

Hi Dave,
While we appreciate your feedback, there must be some kind of misunderstanding, because Shopper Approved only collect reviews from actual verified customers.
Unlike open review platforms, who let virtually anyone leave an unverified review, Shopper Approved only collects verified reviews from customers who have purchased a product or service, which dramatically improves the quality of our reviews.
And, if for some reason a customer accidentally misplaces or deletes their Shopper Approved survey, we have a big button right at the top of our home page that allows any one of our client's customers to leave a verified review, to ensure that everyone has a voice.
Anyway, I hope that helps clear up any issues that you might have regarding our services.
If you've had an issue with one of our clients, or you have any additional questions, please reach out to our friendly support team at [email protected] and they will be happy to assist you.
Best Regards,

Rose colored reviews
Checked out a shopper approved website that had no 1 star reviews but had 13 complaints against it with the better business bureau. That company intentionally misleads the online buying community. Shopper approved should represent both sides of the coin
Response from Shopper ApprovedSep 24, 2020
Hi David,
Thank you!
What you've discovered is EXTREMELY important, because the truth of the matter is that you've been completely mislead. In fact, every single day, millions of honest, trusting consumers, just like yourself, are deliberately tricked into thinking that open review sites like BBB and Trustpilot are displaying accurate ratings and reviews that they can "trust" about the companies they buy from.
The truth is the exact opposite of what you see online. There's a phenomena called 'Open Review Syndrome', where open review platforms like BBB and Trustpilot (because they allow anyone to leave a review, without virtually any verification or proof of purchase), collect significantly more negative reviews than positive reviews. This is because people that have bad experiences with companies online are significantly more likely to leave bad reviews - particularly on open review platforms - than customers who have had good experiences, even though exponentially more customers have good experiences.
This unfortunately leads to these open review platforms displaying horrible overall ratings and reviews for literally tens of thousands of good, honest companies - giving consumers completely inaccurate and false information, that they then use to make incorrect buying decisions.
If you don't believe me, do a search on Trustpilot or on BBB for any of the following companies and check out their star ratings...
LG
Google
Costco
Home Depot
Under Armour
FedEx
Microsoft
Walmart
And the list goes on and on...
What you will find is that ALL of these companies have a 1 star rating on one or both of these platforms, which is absurd, completely inaccurate and false, and yet there it is, and millions of people look at BBB and Trustpilot ratings and trust them to make effective buying decisions?!?
The truth is, that our reviews are significantly more accurate than BBB or Trustpilot, because we only collect actual, verified reviews from real paying customers after they buy, whereas open review platforms primarily collect complaints from a very small fraction of unhappy customers that are actively searching for an outlet to publicly share their frustrations.
Don't get me wrong, customers that have had a bad experience, have every right to share their frustrations, but open review platforms should never allow these negative experiences to be positioned as trusted or verified 'reviews', because they're not - they're complaints, because in order to be a true review from an ethical point of view:
- Every person must be an actual, verified customer of the business they're leaving the review for.
- The review platform must work directly with the business in order to proactively attempt to collect a review from every single paying customer in order to ensure that the reviews are unbiased. And,
- The business cannot be allowed to edit or remove their reviews - whatever the review platform collects, gets displayed, in order to ensure accuracy, honesty and transparency.
Without these minimum measures in place, open review platforms are knowingly misleading honest consumers, and hurting honest businesses throughout the world every single day. And that's the truth.
I'm sure you didn't expect to get that response, lol. I'm just very passionate about this topic, because I've had to deal with it for so long, and they mislead millions while we get blamed for playing by the rules.
Anyway, if you have any other questions, just let us know. You are welcome to reach out to our support team at [email protected].

Doesn't show bad ratings
I left one positive review and one negative review for two products I purchased separately. The reviews were collected in the same fashion for the same business.
The positive review is prominently displayed and the negative review is nowhere to be found.

Shopper Approved (Updated review)
I was dissatisfied with Shopper Approved's handling of my review of Presto Photo as a verified purchaser of an "Apple-style" photo book. As requested, I submitted images related to my review to both Presto Photo and Shopper Approved. I wanted potential customers to know what to expect when ordering from Presto Photo. I don't recall seeing my review posted.
Shopper Approved wrote me today (August 3, 2020), telling me that they found the review posted on the Presto Photo site. However, the review they refer to was for a different purchase. I've decided to lower my original rating of Shopper Approved from 2-stars to 1-star.
Shopper Approved wrote me today (August 4, 2020) with an apology. I replied to Shopper Approved stating that further communications between us are unnecessary and a waste of our time.
Response from Shopper ApprovedAug 4, 2020
Hi Solo,
Please accept our sincere apologies.
We didn't realize that you had two recent reviews for Presto Photo. The reason your most recent review isn't currently displayed is because Presto Photo actively reached out to you via our Customer Care System, in an attempt to try and help you to resolve your issue. We typically grant our clients a 30 day resolution window to help their customers who might have a problem. If your issue or concern hasn't been resolved to your satisfaction by then, then your review will be displayed as it stands. However, if they do resolve your concern, then you have the opportunity to update your feedback.
We believe that every business should have an opportunity to make things right whenever possible. This way, the customer with the issue knows they are cared for, and the business has an opportunity to solve any problems or concerns before they potentially damage their reputation.

shopperapproved.com is not for shopper…
shopperapproved.com is not for shopper reviews, shopperapproved.com is only to make sellers look good, the entire back end is geared towards advertising for sellers and signing up sellers for their excellent 5 stars reviews service. Simply look at the reviews and they are almost all short, no details of a transaction, obviously bought. Pricing !?? to leave a review ?! I tried to sign up and leave a review and it was not possible without a cost, I go to see the cost and pricing is for sellers of course. Again the whole site is geared towards sellers, not shoppers.
Response from Shopper ApprovedJul 30, 2020
Hi Ryan,
Let me see if I can offer some insight to help you better understand how we collect, manage and display reviews for our clients.
Our goal is to give every single person that makes a purchase from a seller, the opportunity to leave a review - good or bad. These are called verified reviews, and they are the most trusted type of reviews you can get online. The result of our process is that sellers that use our service naturally get higher star ratings, because every client gets an opportunity to leave a reaview, which is the way it should be.
If we didn't attempt to collect reviews from every paying customer equally, then our reviews would become biased and negatively skewed. This happens all the time on open review platforms like Trustpilot - it's called 'open review syndrome', and it affects tens of thousands of honest, hard working companies, and millions of unwary consumers every single day.
As far as your 'pricing to leave a review' comment, I'm not sure what you mean. Our service is completely free to our client's customers and always has been, but the only way you can leave a review on Shopper Approved is if you actually make a purchase from one of our clients, because every review has to be verified in order for it to be displayed.
Honestly, if you want to leave an unverified review about a particlar company, then you probably want to leave a review on Trustpilot - they are an open review platform and allow anyone to leave unsolicited, unverified reviews about any company without any proof of purchase.
Anyway, I hope that gives you a little more insight into how we do things. If you did happen make a purchase from one of our clients and didn't receive the full survey email for some reason, please email [email protected] and we will make sure to resend it to you.
Best Regards,

I don't understand how Shopper Approved…
I don't understand how a Shopper Approved rating can be a help to the consumers. The merchants select to what customer an invitation to a rating is send? I haven't received the shipment 90 days after I ordered it. I cancelled the order. No, wonder I haven't received an invitation from the merchant to rate him and no wonder if this merchant has an high average rating in "Shopper Approved".
Response from Shopper ApprovedJun 18, 2020
Hi Antonio,
As a verified review company, we strive to make sure that every customer has the opportunity to receive a full survey after they receive their order.
In unique circumstances where a customer doesn't receive their order, or an order is canceled, then it is possible that they might not receive a survey, because the natural order process isn't fully completed.
If you didn't receive a survey email due to a canceled order or not receiving your order for some reason, please let us know and we can look into it for you.
Our goal is to give every verified customer the opportunity to share their feedback, whether good or bad, in order to create the most accurate and honest representation of every company we work with.

Shopper-Approved or Seller-Approved?
Shopper-Approved or Seller-Approved?
First note- there are plenty of good companies reviewed on shopper approved.
The problem is that their goodness or lack thereof has nothing to do with Shopper-Approved. A more accurate name for the company would be Seller-Approved.
I recently had an experience where I used a company with a 4.7 SA rating. It had zero 1-2 score reviews and 80% 5 reviews. However nothing about the company even with the most generous review could have it be a five. Just my opinion though, right? Well perhaps but there's more to the story and it starts with me trying to share my purchase experience on shopper approved.
I wanted to save others from my experience if possible.
So I tried to share my 1 star rating. I go to the site. No where from shopper approved or on their website could I submit a review. There's not a single link anywhere to submit a rating. I went out of my way and contacted their support group via a bot. Day later I received a follow up and proved my purchase. Still I was not able to upload a review. They sent me multiple review links that were blank or didn't work.
Finally after about 10 emails, they said I had submitted a review the day after purchase and that was preventing my changing the review. However that was impossible because I didn't submit any paperwork until 2.5 days after my order, 1 day after they said I reviewed them. So somebody- either SA or the company I purchased from- submitted a review for me.
To be fair I went back through my emails and found a SA follow-up about 10 days after they falsely said I had already submitted my one review. I remembered receiving this email because I was already wanting to leave feedback (my order still had not been completed) but the shopper approved survey didn't allow anything but positive feedback. Even if you had canceled your order- they didn't provide any way to communicate why or rate that experience. It was only positive feedback loops they wanted to collect. If I didn't have a positive order, I was told to simply wait.
I was not having a positive experience, so I didn't submit a positive review of the order. But yet they somehow captured a review for me 10 days in advance of even sending me the survey. Either they are a shill company getting paid to only deliver primarily positive reviews, or their system is so gameable that unscrupulous vendors can strip out all negative ratings. Either way it's hard to conclude that Shopper Approved has much of a quality control process and thus that there's no meaning to Shopper Approved scores as a general matter.
Eventually I was able to finally rate this experience as negative on Shopper Approved. I wasn't able to verify it, and I received no confirmation of my review so whether it's actually being counted in the score I'm still skeptical. I mentioned this to their customer support person and to date she has not provided any information that my review is publicly visible as I wrote it.
Based both on the difficulty of submitting any review, as well as the please-rate-us-as-long-as-its-positive emails I got from Shopper-Approved, I no longer have any faith in their rating systems or product.
I communicated this to customer support, she just disagreed with me and did not comment on why their feedback systems are closed and the email surveys I received only allowed positive ratings.
My advice is to weight their scores at 0 and use a more transparent and customer-focused site like trustpilot. I am also considering emailing google to inform them of this experience and see if they can remove shopper approved ratings from their ranking systems in favor of a less gamed rating company.

Hi Josh,
Thank you for your feedback on the experience you had with our system when trying to leave a review for one of our merchants. We'd like to apologize for any issues you ran into with our system when trying to leave a review. We aim to be the voice of the customer for our merchants, and we want every review to reflect the true experiences consumers are having with our merchants. I understand that your experience was not ideal, and I believe you should have the opportunity to voice that experience.
We are more than happy to update your review of our merchant within our system. Please reach out to [email protected] and we will take care of this for you.

Fake !......Impossible as far as I can…
Fake !......Impossible as far as I can see, to leave a review with this outfit !.....As a follow up, this company complained to trust pilot that my comments were "defamatory" and tried to have my review removed....Trustpilot decided NOT to remove my review after all......I have not said that Shopper Approved is fake (as I am sure they have made sure it is legal)....What I AM saying however is that it is RUBBISH and WORTHLESS in my opinion.....Check out the other many many negative reviews for yourself !!
Response from Shopper ApprovedJul 23, 2020
Hi Robert,
I have to say, I seriously considered flagging your comments as 'defamatory' for a second time, because honestly, your words were hurtful, and I know that if you were to ever come to Ogden, Utah and meet us in person, you would realize that the things you are saying just aren't true. I would imagine that if you did come here, that we would probably become great friends, and you would see all of the amazing people that work here, doing their absolute best every day to try to make the world a better place.
But sitting here, I've realized that you don't know us, and that you have a concern that hasn't been resolved, and so you're frustrated and lashing out in an effort to be heard. Well, I want you to know that I hear you, and rather than take the easy way out and flag your review, I want to help you resolve whatever concern you have, so that you feel better. So please, take a few minutes to reach out to our support team - they're awesome, and they will do whatever they can to help you. You can call them, email them, or even chat with them online - whichever is the most convenient option for you. We are here for you Robert.
As I read your comments above, one of the things I realized from your comments is that you may not know the difference between an open review platform (like Trustpilot) and a verified review platform (like Shopper Approved) - this seems like a big part of your frustration, which I think I can help shed some light on.
As a verified review plaform, the one thing we don't allow is for random people to leave unsolicited, unverified reviews; however, this doesn't mean that our reviews are fake. In fact, it's the exact opposite. Unlike open review platforms (like Trustpilot) where anyone can leave a review without any verification or proof of purchase, only real customers who have actually made a verified purchase from one of our clients can leave reviews on Shopper Approved, which actually makes our reviews the most authentic, trusted reviews online.
Another reason why our reviews are more authentic and trusted, is because our system automatically requests reviews from every paying customer, regardless of their experience. This means that every paying customer has an equal opportunity to leave whatever feedback they want (good or bad) - ultimately creating the most accurate overall star rating and reflecting each company's true reputation.
Unfortunately, open review platforms like Trustpilot, tend to collect a disproportionate amount of negatively skewed ratings and reviews from a very small percentage of a businesses actual client base, creating what's referred to as 'Open Review Syndrome'. Not only do these negatively skewed reviews create a distorted, false view of reality that millions of consumers then base their buying decisions on, but they also harm the reputations of tens of thousands of honest, hard working businesses around the world.
Now, in your comments, you also mentioned our negative reviews on Trustpilot, which surprisingly have very little, if anything to do with Shopper Approved. The bulk of them have to do with the occasional bad experience that a customer has had with one of our clients. And even though these reviews are not directly about us, you will see from our responses that we have still taken great care to answer all of these customers, in an effort to try to help them resolve their concerns.
Also, because on rare occasion, one of our clients customer's loses their survey email, or it doesn't reach their inbox for some reason, we will be adding an option in the very near future where existing customers will have the ability to click a link on our homepage and leave a review. However, in order to protect the integrity of our system, they will need to provide proof of purchase in order for the review to be published.
Anyway, I hope that helps you Robert. And again, please reach out to us so we can help you fully resolve whatever concern it is that you have.
Sincerely,
Scott Brandley
