What if I received an empty box from the vendor you represent and I've already contacted them and they refuse to help. Your only choice that allows me to click on, is the one showing that I'm satisfied. There is no way someone can notify your company that they are not satisfied with the vendor you represent.

Hi Doug,
Thanks for reaching out.
If I remember correctly, the wording on our survey is to confirm if you received your order. It looks like this is a unique case where you received the box but not the order itself, however, you can still click on the survey link and leave any star rating you like.
Also, we would be happy to reach out to the company on your behalf and see if that might help. Please email our support team at [email protected] with the details surrounding your order and they will do their best to try to assist you. :-)
Sincerely,

Expensive product not received, unable to contact Shopper Approved
I ordered, paid by Visa for a printer from DirectMacro on July 16. Got a confirm of purchase from DirectMacro but have received no printer and no followup from this company. Have been trying to reach DirectMacro by phone and email. Then I received an email from Shopper Approved. Their ONLY choice was for me to tell them it arrived--which, of course, it hasn't. I hate to dump on Siri at Shopper Approved, but it seems the only way to make contact. I'm 85 years old and have a doctor's visit today. If you don't get back to me today, I will have to email Siri or contact you some other way.

Received an unsolicited call
Received an unsolicited call from this company. The individual on the line wanted to offer some sort of an eBook and the line was being recorded without my permission. Hard to count the number of privacy violations this company breaks on a single day if this is their sales strategy. The number I received this call from: 980-925-5715, looked like they were using a VOIP line.
The call went like this:
Hi, I am xyz calling from ShopperApproved, this call is being recorded. The reason I am calling you is talk about the latest ebook on top ... I know your are the [job title] at [my current employer] so...
Response from Shopper ApprovedJun 4, 2021
Hi Krinal,
Thanks for reaching out. We sincerely apologize if one of our agents follow up calls were unexpected.
As with most SAAS companies, we do various forms of advertising. One of the free services we provide in our advertising efforts is the ability to access one of our informative ebooks. In order for someone to get the ebook, we ask that they fill out a form with their name, email, phone number, etc. A few days after they receive the ebook, we do a friendly follow up to answer any questions that they might have.
If you didn't opt-in to request an ebook, please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience. We do our best to only contact people that are interested in the services that we provide.
I will forward your name to the sales department, and ask them to remove you from the database. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to [email protected] and they will be happy to help in any way they can.
Best Regards,

By my understanding
By my understanding, putting Trustpilot in charge of ShopperApproved reviews is like doing just the opposite - they both skew the results to the end-user by delaying/suppressing bad reviews.
Note: there are only 1-star & 5-star reviews on the Trustpilot site for ShopperApproved.
Response from Shopper ApprovedFeb 25, 2021
Hi Rod,
I'm so glad that you noticed something that we've tried to point out for years! :-)
(You can read the 'About Us' section on Trustpilot in the right-hand column to see our take on it.)
The reason that there are only 1 and 5 stars is because all of the 1 star reviews are reviews from our client's customers, who had a bad experience with one of our thousands of clients - not us, and then wrote a bad review about us because we collect reviews for them - even though all of our client's reviews are verified and from actual real customers and 100% transparent.
Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about these, because Trustpilot is an open review platform and lets anyone say anything they want without any verification or validation. But even though these client's customers leave us a 1 star, we still do our best to help them - even though their shopping experience has nothing to do with us.
Alternatively, all of the 5 star reviews are from our clients, who actually use our services. These are genuine experiences - we don't incentivize them in any way to leave a review.
So, there you have it. A very strange dicotomy of 1 and 5 star reviews - all left on an open review platform that we never asked to be a part of. Who knows if any of them are real? (Okay, I'm being a bit facetious, but still, it really annoys me as the owner of one of the largest verified review platforms in the world, that anyone can say what they want on Trustpilot, and I can't verify if they're a real customer or not. How is that fair?)
That's the risk of trusting an open review platform like Trustpilot. You have no idea if anything is real, and if someone disparages your company, you have very little, if any recourse - even if they're not your customer.
This is why we only collect actual verified reviews from people that buy our client's products and services, because that's the only way you can know for certain that the reviews are real.
So Rod, I hope that clarifies things, so you and hopefully many others who read this will better understand, that what you see on open review platforms is not a real, true reflection of a companies online reputation. Open review platforms are basically for all intents and purposes, glorified complaint boards masked as review platforms.
They should be forced to make that disclaimer on every single page of their website, because millions of people are deceived every day into thinking that open review platforms star ratings are accurate, when they're far from it.
If you don't agree with me, do a search for any of these companies on Trustpilot...
LG
Google
Costco
Home Depot
Under Armour
Fedex
Microsoft
Walmart
How is it that all of these beloved national brands have a 1 star?
It's because the only people leaving reviews are customers who had a bad experience and want to publicly express their frustrations.
But what about the millions of people that have good experiences with these companies every day? Don't their ratings and reviews matter? The only way to really know what these company's true reputation and average star ratings are, is to try and actively collect reviews from all of their clients after they buy. Only then can you get an accurate representation of their true reputation.
That's the difference between a verified review platform like Shopper Approved, and an open review platform like Trustpilot.
So, if you want to know which reviews you can trust, ignore any open review platforms, and stick with verified review platforms.
I hope that helps,
Sincerely,

Here is why I give them one star
Here is why I give them one star. I reached out to the company to ask why a company can have such great reviews on Shoppers Approved and poor reviews everywhere else? Needless to say they did not respond to my question which I did not feel was inappropriate. Sorry for being a little skeptical of a business that is paying another company to host their reviews.
Response from Shopper ApprovedFeb 25, 2021
Hi J2,
Thanks for your comments.
Your concern is completely valid. Why are Shopper Approved's verified reviews for a particular company so different than reviews from open review platforms like Trustpilot?
The answer will probably make you angry... against Trustpilot that is.
You see, there are two very types of review platforms online. Verified review platforms like Shopper Approved, who only collect reviews from actual paying customers after they buy, and then there are open review platforms like Trustpilot, who allow anyone to leave a review, without any proof of purchase or verification. This means that anyone with a chip on their shoulder, or an agenda can say whatever they want without any recourse.
This type of unvetted power can irreparably damage a company's reputation, even if the person leaving the review has never even bought from that company!
There are numerous examples of companies who have been literally flooded with bad or good reviews, depending on the agenda, by groups of people who are socially or politically driven to damage or promote a brand on Trustpilot or other open review platforms.
The other huge problem with open review platforms is that customers with bad experiences are significantly more likely to go out of their way to leave a bad review, than customers who have had a good experience. This means that the reviews that you see on Trustpilot that you think are accurate, are completely off-base, and in many case THE EXACT OPPOSITE of what is actually true!
Case in point, do a search on Trustpilot for any of these leading brands...
LG
Google
Costco
Home Depot
Under Armour
Fedex
Microsoft
Walmart
You know as well as I do that there is no way on earth that all of these household brands have a 1 star rating, but yet there it is!
How can you see that, and then beleive that anything else on Trustpilot could possibly be an accurate reflection of a company's true reputation?
It's impossible.
Bottom line, Trustpilot is actively and knowingly deceiving millions of people into thinking that their ratings are accurate, when in reality they're not accurate whatsoever.
But because people tend to beleive what they see, millions of unaware consumers just beleive it and make their buying decisions based on a lie. And then when they see our ratings, which are actually verified AND actively solicited to every single customer that buys from that company - just like you did - they reject that company's actual real reputation, and unknowingly accept the lie.
It's completely messed up and wrong, and yet open review platforms like Trustpilot get away with it every single day.
As you can see, I'm pretty passionate about this topic, but I'm sick and tired of watching consumers being mislead, shunning good, honest businesses based on completely unverified, unsolicited, negatively skewed reviews from a very small handful of upset customers looking for a place to complain, when the vast majority of their customers are happy with their purchases.
Trustpilot is a glorified complaints board - not a review company, and the sooner people realize it, the better off the world will be.

Shopper Review vs BBB
Hi Shopper Review, I made a purchase with a company that proudly displayed your stamp approval. Only to be delayed 2+ months in shipping and poor communication. I go to BBB site to find a plethora of the same complaints over the past year. Unfortunately since your service does not match the BBB, your brand of approval is non approved.
Response from Shopper ApprovedFeb 1, 2021
Hi Michael,
Thanks for your feedback. Let me see if I can provide some insight here.
The reason why Shopper Approved's reviews and BBB's reviews are different is because we attempt to proactively collect ratings and reviews from every one of our client's customers, good or bad, whereas only those who have had a bad experience tend to leave their feedback on BBB.
So, in other words, our ratings and reviews represent the overall reputation of a company, whereas BBB represents only a small subset of a company's upset customers.
Both are important in their own way. For example, if you want to know a company's overall reputation, and look at both their good and bad reviews together, you want to look at Shopper Approved. Alternatively, if you want to focus more specifically on just the bad experiences customers have had with a company, then BBB is a good option.
I hope that helps you to better understand the difference.
All that being said, it's still unfortunate that you had a bad experience. If you need help with the company, please reach out to our support team by emailing [email protected], and they can try to reach out to the company on your behalf, and see if there's anything they can do.
Best Regards,

Dishonest companies use this site…
Dishonest companies use this site when they want their reviews to look sparkling clean. Sites like this and companies that use them should all be shut down. Just look at some of the companies they provide reviews for on the BBB. SeatingMind, for example, has nothing but reviews about customers getting scammed (which was also my experience) but on shopperapproved.com they have glowing reviews. I unfortunately trusted those reviews at the time. Shame on you guys for providing a sham service to scammer businesses to help enable them.
Response from Shopper ApprovedJan 18, 2021
Hi Toomanyjoes,
Thanks for your feedback. When looking at reviews online it's very important to note that there are two types of review platforms - open review platforms and verified review platforms.
Sites like BBB and Trustpilot are open review platforms, which means that anyone can leave a review, and in most cases, these are unverified and unsolicited, which means that the reviews are primarily left by upset customers, which negatively skews the true reputation of the business.
Veriifed review platforms, like Shopper Approved only allow actual verified customers to leave reviews, and we ask for reviews from every customer regardless of their overall experience, which means that the overall ratings are more accurate and in-line with the company's true reputation.
It is unfortunate to hear that you had a bad experience. Buying used furniture is always a bit of a risk, but hopefully you were able to return it and resolve your issue.
If not, please reach out to our friendly support staff, and they will be happy to contact the company on your behalf.
Sincerely,
Shopper Approved Support
