Before you buy just look at the return policy yourself. Awful. External hard drive arrived broken. Sucha a waste of time, very hard to get hold of them

This is the most horrible customer service I have ever experienced. First they sent me products that did not match their item descriptions, by performing much worse than advertised. I had to reach out to WD many tomes to get a response to my return request. Before WD accepted my RMA request they demanded from me to take a picture of the back of all 4 cards with their serial numbers. After submitting the images they approved the return. I shipped back all 4 cards that I originally received from Western Digital. But I received only the money for the 2 cheaper cards, while WD falsely states that I did not return the 2 expensive cards. whether it is a complete lie and they are aware that I returned all 4 correct cards or (option 2) someone at their warehouse stole mine. Either way, this is not my problem and I should not have to deal with it. Go to my youtube channel ParadiseBizz to see the video including my video proof of returning the correct cards.

Ordered Scandisk SSD. Apparently comes from Netherlands to UK and total cockup with customs and appeared according to tracking was sent back to wherever. Wasted 15 days. WD helpline no useful help at all. Opened PayPal dispute who found immediately in my favour. Pity as this was a repeat order and first SSD arrived without a hitch. No I would not recommend.

Ordered 512GB usb drive directly on 02/07/21 on 15/07/21 tracking changed to return to sender. Contacted WD support who told me I'd get a refund 7 days after they received it back and I'd have to re-order. Item is no longer on sale and is now nearly twice the price. Ordered from amazon and arrived in a few hours for £30 less than re-ording direct. Absolute joke and perfect example of how not to do business.

Visited online store 2nd july 2021, placed an order for a 2tb ssd, delivery in 3-5 working days. Tracking stated delivery by friday 9th. Updated info on 8th said check back tomorrow. Same on 9th and 10th. 10th july I opened paypal case and awaited a response, checking delivery status daily. No response from anyone, at any time. 14th july 2021, tracking shows item being returned to sender. Still no response or refund from Western Digital. Can't escalate to a claim until 17th July. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN, AFTER THIS. They obviously couldn't care less about their customers and are utterly ignorant whenever a problem arises. I could have had this for £10 less and delivered within 2 days using Amazon, but I thought ordering directly from the manufacturer would be better and easier. HOW WRONG WAS I?? Edit In addiction to the above, teaxking information shows my item never left Holland and was returned to western digital. NOTE, THAT DESPITE THEM NEVER SHIPPING IT TO ME, THEY STILL REFUSED TO ANSWER PAYPAL MESSAGES AND STILL DID NOT HONOUR A REFUND. Track it on Ups yourself number is 1Z97W1856840952319

Purchased a 2 Tb Version of My Book Live, Support for the product lasted no more than 3 yrs. Subsequent software SECURITY FAILURES imbedded in the product software allowed back door access to Data and data loss, Instead of fixing the software issues, WD advised customers to stop using the product and offered 40% reduction on the price of a replacement product. Now can you imagine the outcry if Microsoft or our computer manufacturer allowed our computer security to be destroyed in the same way and then asked us to return the computer and buy a new one directly from them with a 40% reduction, without the customer being informed how much the actual 60% is? Despite communicating and asking the simple question, (HOW MUCH) the response gave no more than the information already available. Being a sanicle person, I have to ask, how does the 60% WD are charging actually relate to the cost of the manufacture and delivery of the replacement product? Given that the original product would have been discounted by WD to their wholesale suppliers, agencies etc., and YOU and the customers, would then be paying the full retail price, I suspect the replacement 60% (including inflation) totally covers WD costs, with a bit of profit thrown in. I am surprised that our American Cousins have not issued a CLASS ACTION against WD. In any event, for those slightly technical amongst us, if you can, recover the stored data, purchase a 3.5 HDD Caddy <£20, open the WD My Book Live Case, remove the hard drive and the small bit of electronics attached to the drive, place the hard drive into the Caddy, (10 tiny screws), attach the HDD to a USB port and reformat the drive. You now have a working drive (Videos on the Internet show and explain the process.) If the number of one star reviews on this site do not convince you to avoid buying WD products that are not covered by another manufacturers Guarantee, then hopefully this entry will.

I tried to buy an HDD in that store but theirs payment system just did not work: PayPal "is not available", debit card "authorization failed" (with no actual request to my bank, card is used with Amazon, eBay, etc.). Support was unable to help during two weeks (was just giving polite promises).
