It was obvious that they were liars from the beginning. Matt McKinnon told us that he could get us a $45,000 cash out Refinance, and when it didn’t go through, he wanted to blame us. He was completely unscrupulous, had no honor whatsoever. And his financial manager is just as corrupt. They fraudulently charged more money on our credit card, knowing that we did not authorize that. I caught it before it went through, froze my card, and received a new card with a new number. The next month, I saw those same charges from Shield Home Loans on my new Discover card. Discover told me that Shield Home Loans made it a recurring charge, and that’s how it got on my new Discover card. They know the Fraud game so they prey on innocent victims, like us seniors, my husband who a veteran of the United States Air Force. We will be filing more complaints and making the government aware. If Matt McKinnon calls you, hang up!

Highly deceptive language used by our rep Matt, the $500 deposit is to pay for the appraisal and is not refundable as portrayed to us. This company stole $500 from a disabled veteran. After our loan was not approved due to under appraisal, we were offered to pay for another one! No refund no refinance just stole our money and said it’s out of their hands. Ive already filed a complaint to the BBB but will be moving forward with sharing my experience across social media. Avoid doing business with these dishonest thieves, you’re just a number to them.

Ryan cousins the worst company been waiting for almost three months for answers they are not a straight forward people will lye to you about interest rates etc.. take some time days before you hear anything of course management is the same way no care for customers you are just a piece of dirt that can be swept away

This has to be the most dishonest, rude, and rip off company I have ever come across. They got over on us once but being nieve gave them another chance. Despite vocalizing our concerns with trusting them again they managed to not just get over on us but massively rip us off. We made sure to address our concerns and they reassured us that the refinance would go through again. They knew it would Not go through. After being denied what we agreed to in the beginning they tried to give us a new agreement. The new refinance option was nothing of what we wanted. Not only would they gain up to $40,000 but we would be at a loss. Because we would not take the second option they proceeded to take extra money from us. This company was so rude and dishonest. They took advantage of us knowing our concerns. During one call with a rep the guy laughed as I was almost in tears due to being denied after being reassured that would not happen. We not only lost money but our credit scores took a huge hit. To work with a company who has no co.passion, integrity and is dishonest is insane to me. If it worked out for you that is wonderful, but for every one that works this company is taking advantage of multiple families who are seeking help.

At first everything was going fine, but as the days went on the money I was getting back started going down down down, to the point now I owe them money on top their ridiculous high fees just to close. STAY FAR AWAY TRUST ME!!!!!

Complete and total scam artist. They will promise low fees but they will magically triple once quoted. They won't provide written quotes until you pay for ab appraisal. Run as fast as you can from this company.

Don't trust Shield Home Loans. They start off with great talk and then hide critical details. The details of the loan were hidden until I was sitting with the Notary. I called Henry and he had the nerve to claim we had already discussed the changes. There was no discussion at all. He lied. All of the credit card debt was to be included but only 1/2 was included. Of course he got 100% of his pay while delivering 50% of mine. Truly disgusting ethics by this one individual. The same Henry got me with some insurance guy that wanted to roll my auto insurance with the home insurance. He tried to charge me $110 more per month on auto than I was currently paying while also trying to convince me that I was saving $1,000 annually. Go with anybody else and your chances are better. UPDATE- Senior loan officer Henry Qaiser promised repeatedly that I would be able to skip 2 payments. It turns out that was a lie also. Rocket Mortgage has tried numerous times to contact Shield with little to any response. They stated that they tried to contact me. Another lie. No email, text or phone call. Shield Home Loans can't be trusted for anything that they say.
