Unfulfilled promises, unfinished work, and unanswered refund requests
I hired Self Publishing LLC for publishing and marketing services for my children’s books. Although my first two books were published, my overall experience has involved unfinished work, repeatedly missed deadlines, and unresolved refund requests. Communication from the company has now stopped. My third book remains unfinished after months of production and repeated requests for illustration corrections. My author website has been repeatedly inaccessible for an extended period. I repeatedly requested documentation of marketing activities and results, progress reports, and firm completion dates. I received assurances that updates and information would be provided, but promised deadlines repeatedly passed without the requested materials or a clear explanation. I also requested cancellation and refunds for two additional paid programs. Those requests remain unresolved. As of October 24, 2026, I have received no further email communication from the company since October 2. I have retained contracts, payment records, and extensive email correspondence. I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Florida Attorney General’s office. I entrusted this company with my money, my stories, and my hopes and dreams as an author, which makes this experience especially painful. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. I encourage authors to independently verify promised services and results and carefully examine cancellation and refund terms before committing to paid publishing programs.
