Deleting comments that are respectfully written, just disagreeing with the article in a polite manner. If they don't want feedback, they should not advertise that: "We want to hear from you! Share your opinions in the thread below and remember to keep it respectful."

In September, I was accepted onto a training program at Screen Rant as a TV and Movies Features Journalist. I passed training and was accepted into Screen Rant Academy, where new writers work closely with two editors to learn and grow. That was the beginning of the end. Long story short, they dropped me without warning. After pretending to care about you, your work, and your process, and after pretending to support you, they drop you randomly. I was told I had a good grasp of Screen Rant's style. I was told my analysis and my editorial was great. I was told that I write well-written articles. And yet they drop me because of...*checks notes*..."low performance." Which is B.S. If I were you, I would avoid writing for Screen Rant, and be wary of Valnet overall. They do not care about you at all. The editors I was working with did not even have the decency to tell me that I was underperforming, as they told me the opposite. They did not even have the courtesy to fire me or let me know that it was not working. I found out through an EMAIL from HR and I was removed from ALL THEIR PLATFORMS before I even got to say goodbye. So not only do they not care. They dispose of you without a thought and abandon you after playing charades - by pretending to care. What I learnt from this role is to stay away from companies like this. Everything about this place is abysmal. The editors, who are notoriously bad at their jobs and publish articles with mistakes, decided that I was not the right fit? Right. Anywhere, even a warehouse, is better than Screen Rant.

Interesting reads and great for when I've finished watching a movie and would like more insights

Thank you god I’m not alone in thinking this way. I personally think that ScreenRant and any adjacent brand with the word, “Rant” are low common denominator gaming journalism and for many reasons. Their articles are inane and don’t contribute to any relevant discussion whatsoever. At least Kotaku could try and be competent if they truly wanted to, but ScreenRant doesn’t make much attempts with it. Obviously they’re meant to be conversation starters but to what angle? It’s clear that wanting clicks and reads is more important because I don’t want to read about how a YouTuber was right about something when I could watch another YouTuber make the same points and be more condense. I would rather read a blog by some guy preaching nonsense about our political climate than read an article by ScreenRant. I would be embarrassed to not only have this company on my resume, but to the writers who think this is as good as it gets. A complete overhaul would be needed to salvage any good merit, which considering their guerilla tactics for clicks and conformity, is just wishful thinking at this point. Gaming journal could’ve been so much more meaningful and interesting if ScreenRant weeded out the unnecessary content and maybe some of their writers as well. Still, whatever good merit the company had, my rant has more of it than any article or YouTube video they ever made

I could not even read the article for the constant advertisements causing my browser to refresh to the beginning of the article. Waste of time.
