This company stores customers’ credit card information and processes charges without clear authorization. There is no communication regarding these charges—no email, invoice, or prior notice—yet the card is charged quietly. Compounding the issue, their cancellation policy is limited to 24 hours, but without any charge notification, customers may not even realize a charge has occurred within that window. Customer service has been unresponsive and unhelpful in resolving the matter. Overall, this has been a very poor and concerning experience.

Thank you for taking the time to write this, and we’re genuinely sorry that your experience left you feeling worried and unheard. We want every customer to feel confident about how they’re billed, and we’re sorry this didn’t feel that way for you. To give some context, our subscriptions renew automatically until they’re cancelled, and a plan can be cancelled at any time from your account settings. Billing is processed only for the plan you’ve subscribed to, and we recognise that how and when renewal information reaches customers matters just as much. We’ve noted your comments about renewal charges, communication around them and the support you received, and we truly appreciate you being open about all of it. Thank you again for raising this, and we wish you the very best with your work.

The platform serves a basic purpose, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I would go as far as saying it is non-existent. In addition to having poor customer service, there is no security on usage of your bank cards. I seem to have been charged twice for this service, and it turns out that I had an account created with my email that I use regularly and a google email, that I don't recall creating and never used. So I have been charged twice for overa a year on this and the only explanation I get, is that we have users create multiple accounts using the same card all the time (access to fraud readily available). No exception or even transfer of the paid funds to the active account offered, just a sorry excuse that nothing is possible. As soon as I find an alternative to this service, I would rather cancel than use this company anylonger

Thank you for laying this out so clearly. We’ve noted your feedback about the support you received, and we’re also sorry the explanation about multiple accounts on the same card came across as dismissive, as it wasn’t meant to suggest anything about you. Finding a second account you don’t remember creating, and learning you’ve paid for both for over a year, is upsetting. We’d like to review both accounts and the billing on each. On your concern about card security, your card details are confidential and private, and we treat them that way. You can also change your payment method at any time from your account settings. You also asked whether the funds could be moved to your active account, and that’s a fair question. Please email us at [email protected] with both account emails and the link to this review, and we’ll look at what can be done. Thank you for being so specific about what happened. We understand if you choose to move on, and we hope you find the tools that suit your research best.

Even with premium membership you will run out of credit making it in usable. I bought the premium membership and ran out of credit in few hours of using it. It's a shame and waste of money. DO NOT BUY MEMBERSHIP ITS A SCAM

We’re sorry Premium didn’t meet your expectations, and thank you for sharing your experience. Credit usage depends on the task: the number of papers, the year range, the report type, and the approach the agent takes, so in-depth agent tasks use more credits than lighter ones. This guide breaks down what each task costs: scispace.com/guides/credits-pricing-guide We’ve also made changes to our plans since then: our Advanced and Max plans now come with unlimited agent usage, so heavy research no longer runs into credit limits. You can see the details at scispace.com/pricing.

Honestly, my experience with SciSpace felt completely unreliable. One quick test used up all my credits, the tool barely worked, and the refund policy didn’t line up with what was shown when I paid. The whole thing felt so unclear and upside-down that it genuinely made me suspect it might be operating in a scam-like way, at least based on what I went through. I’d recommend anyone to be very careful before signing up.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with SciSpace and feel that others should be aware before signing up. I subscribed expecting their 24-hour money-back guarantee to offer some peace of mind, but the moment I tried to cancel, I was told my refund was invalid because of a “300 credit usage” rule that I had never seen during checkout or anywhere near their pricing details. That entire credit balance was apparently consumed by one test run that produced almost no meaningful output, which made the situation even more frustrating. Only after contacting support did I discover that this restriction is tucked away in a long, hard-to-find legal document rather than disclosed where purchase decisions are made. The platform itself didn’t justify the cost — the responses were slow, superficial, and far below what I expected from a paid service — and the customer support interactions left me feeling dismissed rather than helped. The whole experience came across as opaque and discouraging, and I regret ever signing up.

I intended to try SciSpace with the monthly plan, but I accidentally subscribed to the yearly plan and realized the mistake almost immediately. Their pricing page clearly states “All plans have 100% money back guarantee for 24 hours,” which is the reason I felt safe to try the service. I opened a support ticket within the first 30 minutes, but the refund was denied multiple times based on a “300 credit usage” rule that is not disclosed anywhere on the pricing page, not shown during checkout, and not mentioned alongside the 24-hour money-back guarantee. This exception is buried in a long legal document, not in the places where customers make their purchase decisions. I am simply asking that SciSpace honor the guarantee they publicly promote. It is very discouraging to see a company refuse a clearly advertised 24-hour money-back policy. This experience has made it very difficult to trust or continue with the platform. Ticket ID: #53951272
