SchoolStoreReviews of schoolstore.com

My grandchildren’s school is participating in this fundraiser. We donated about $80 to each child because we assumed the money would go directly to the kids’ teachers. Not so. The teachers have to “shop” at the company’s store. I wasn’t able to access the teacher shopping page, but I’m guessing there’s a HUGE mark up. I could have purchased a Walmart gift card for each teacher to use that would probably have yielded far more supplies for each class.

Spam, spam, spam!! This is an awful way to gain funds for schools. Whatever happened to bake sales? Or whatever we used to do as kids? We had to send invitations out to friends and family to be a part of this so my child could win a prize. Everyone is getting daily spam to donate. It’s ridiculous. I had to send an apology email to everyone encouraging them to remove themselves from the mailing list.

Apparently they ask the parents for emails. My sister provided mine as the kid's uncle and I got 15 emails from them in the span of 3 days. I tried to unsubscribe from the emails multiple times, but continued to get emails from them. Ridiculous to send out more than a single email when I am not the one who signed up. On top of that the emails they send are written as if the child themselves wrote them which is very misleading. Just straight up shameful sales tactics akin to your average Multi-Level Marketing scam except using kids and justifying it by giving the school a small percent and cheap rewards for the kids. Would be better off just donating money and/or supplies directly to the school.

As someone who has received an email from my child's school, I can say that it's HIGHLY irritating to receive email after email after email that solicits a purchase. So, why don't I use the "opt out" link provided? Great question. It doesn't work. It bombs out.

Recomment to not use this company for your school fundraising. They email whomever you "invite" to help your kids school non-stop. In other words, if you give them someone's email address, they will SPAM them daily!!!!!

I bought magazines from my grandchildren and never received any info of how to access my orders for the online magazines. Very disappointed. I contacted customer service with no reply.
