I had gone back and forth about whether I “needed” this for my car. I’ve got a lot of CD’s, and I had purchased a cassette adapter for streaming. Over time my burned CD’s would get stuck, and the cassette adapters (although decent), lacked the sound quality & when the heads got dirty the sound could be very disappointing. So I got the BT Adapter and watched the videos to do the install. Calvin’s video was a bit “slam bam” but gave me confidence I could definitely do it myself. I wish I had seen Henri’s video before I did the install, because if I had it to do again, I would 100% just disconnect the climate control box and take that out of the way. My hands were simply too big to hold that unit up while trying to get in there with my free hand to set the bolts when putting it back together. It took several tries and in the end I dropped one of the bolts down in there like 3 times, and on the 4th drop, I never found it. I figure next time I need to go in there I’ll be a little more diligent and find that head unit bolt. So that part was a bummer. But then the good part: this thing works perfectly EVERY time. It “just connects” as soon as the key is on, and has never lost connection. The sound is great, and I love it every time I get in the car. I did not hook up the mic, because I don’t talk on the phone when I’m in there, but I do sometimes “talk to text” before I drive, or to tell Waze where I want to go - so that was a mistake. I should have and will hook up the mic sometime, though I seem to remember Calvin mentioning in a video what to do if you want the phone to keep using the phone’s mic, so I need to look into that. Any negatives? Maybe 2 niggling things. They could also be user error, or a setting I haven’t found. 1. The volume seems less sensitive to me. It still goes to full volume, and turns up and down easily from the knob, but it seems to take more steps to hear the change in volume. What felt like say going from 20 to 30 on the volume now feels more like 20 to 50. Not a deal breaker, it’s super easy to just turn the knob! 2. It always shows a flashing “Error 1” on the display, which likely there is a setting for, but I haven’t dug into it. It’s just one of those things where the music works, sounds great, always connects and I can close the cover over the head unit, but I would love for it not to flash “error” anywhere in my car, and I’m sure I’ll find the fix at some point. Neither of those 2 things would make me say “don’t get this product.” I am squarely in the ABSOLUTELY BUY THIS camp. If you want to stream music, connect via Bluetooth, and keep your OG system, it’s awesome, it works, and it’s a fantastic price. Shipping was quick - maybe it took a week? It felt like it showed up in about 3 days. Only regret? I wish I had bought one months ago.

Quick response to issues

To be honest, I haven't tried the product yet. When I received the product I had already used a makeshift method to reset the VSC (a paper clip). And now at the moment the car is in repairs. I'm sure that when I finish working on the car I'll probably have to reset it again, at which time I will use the device.

I haven’t been able to get it to work. I accidentally tossed the instructions for the VSC reset, asked for the instructions from SC mods and got two emails that were less than kind, with no replacement of instructions.
