We started sampling Samsara in a couple of our trucks in May of 2017. We fully changed over in August 2018 for all of our trucks. The camera's have proven to be worth their weight in gold. The reporting is pretty good except that some of our trucks won't calculate in your fuel usage reports and I have put in for a request to fix the issue months ago and it is still not rectified. Also the driver ratings are still not calculating correctly as drivers with several harsh events are showing up as 100% safe. We would like to use the driver rating reports as part of our driver bonus program. Thank you,

The camera playback has some issues. But overall pretty good.

Tracking of trucks and trailers are excellent!! Still have some minor issues with the Elog system. We also use the dash cam they offer. Only downfall with the dash cam is it only records when the trucks are moving and only a few minutes after it stops. We had an issue where someone backed into one of our trucks, and we thought we would be able to get the video from the dash cam, only to find out it didnt record while the truck was parked. So we are not sure if we will continue with their dash cams or find something different that records all the time.

So far it has been great. Have only had one time when it wouldn't work like it was supposed to.

The only issue I really have is that when you start to drive it jumps on Drive immediately but when you stop it can take up to 10 minutes to put you back on duty. Another is when you manually pick off duty then when you check 10 minutes later you are back on duty.

Good company very customer service oriented and always trying to improve on the technology

We love that Samsara has in our opinion the best technology for fleet tracking. We switched from Omnitracs after 4 years because Samsara solved most of our frustrations we had with Omnitracs, which I won't go into detail about here. We have greater confidence in knowing where our trucks are all the time. Additionally, the front facing cameras provide great, clear footage. Again it provides us with greater confidence to defend our company and drivers regarding liability claims. Our insurance company is thrilled as well. This will be a 5 star review once Samsara has integrated with PCS and the other major transportation software providers. We need simple integration to make dispatching seamless.
