SamsaraReviews of samsara.com

The system is very good, the units & the platform, the people working there, absolute garbage, no-one knows what to do or how things work, they will get your money no matter what & good luck try to talk to anyone.

Our company has over a hundred trucks and 50 equipment asset trackers installed. A year into the contract Samsara began removing features and saying we had to now pay extra for them. An example is, we were told at the demo about the feature of DOT jurisdiction mileage reporting. Six months into the contract Samsara removed the feature and stated we now have to pay for the feature 10.00 per truck. We have had multiple issues with the mileage readings on the gps platform not matching the trucks and they can't be corrected. What good is the platform if the mileage is not correct? Asset trackers are suppose to update off any Samsara gps unit. We trucks on a jobsite daily and the assets repeatedly are not updating within created geofences. The asset will remain showing on the highway, other locations. Tech Support are so incompetent. In a email you will state to call a phone number within set hours and they call after hours; or never call and send an email after hours stated to communicate. They have no aptitude for clearly explained information on issues. During the install we gave them all the vin numbers, type of data connectors on the vehicles and they still sent the wrong harnesses, not enough, too many of another. Every time we try to use the video for license plate id the images are never clear or legible despite how much editing I do. Tech Support is no help even though during the demo the salesman will tell you how they can do more with the video on their end . It's not true.

Read the fine print in your contract. We are a non-profit Ambulance Service providing services to a large underprivileged urban area. Samsara shipped the devices on 4/26. The installer was not available until the week of 5/31 to 6/6 to install the devices. I'm happy to pay for services from time we started using them on 5/31 and forward, but Samsara billed us monthly from then date of shipping. The devices were not even unboxed or installed until 5/31. I reached out to see if they would void out the invoices for April/May and was told "No - it's in the contract that we are billed from the date of shipping". $900 a month is a lot of money for a non-profit urban EMS agency to pay for devices sitting in a box waiting for an installer. When I refused to pay it, I was told they would send me a box to return the devices (which are now finally installed). They would rather lose $900 a month indefinitely than void out invoices during a time period when the devices were not installed or used. I wouldn't do business with this company again. Heed my warning and stay far away. Ron Berardocco, CEO/EMS Chief, Upper Darby Paramedic Rescue.

Raising multiple issues because we were sold something that doesn't exist. The sales people promise you the earth then don't deliver.

First of all, I asked the Samsara AI where to leave a review, it told me where then removed its answer and said "I can only help with Samsara questions." Now I deal with this system every day. The tracking units for semi trailers are flimsy and the connections rot out all the time and cords simply fall out because the way you attach them to the unit themselves is not done well. The wires in the harness are flimsy and cheap and cause repeated issues from simply falling apart. They have also caused multiple issues with 7-Way wiring. The actual tracking is very imprecise and visually looking for the trailer is just easier. With the tracking units in the trucks I have received "harsh event detected" from simply turning the yard truck left or hooking up to a trailer at about 2 MPH. Since Samsara is inherently associated with dissatisfaction, I can confidently say that this company chose the correct name since every single interaction I've had with their product has caused immense dissatisfaction

I’m guessing the positive reviews are from people early on. First, customer service is horrible. I’d guess it’s off shore somewhere. I can’t count how many times I’ve had to say I’m sorry can you repeat that. But the worst part is trying to part ways. I lost features a few weeks ago and when inquired as to why, I need to purchase another license. But it was features I’ve had for almost 10 years. Samsara says, sorry we need more money for that. Stay far far away. There are other companies with same capabilities that don’t charge for every last thing.

Hate using it. Not easy to use.

Samsara is the biggest piece of crap. Companies, like the one I work for, contract with these clowns to make us drive safer. Problem, the robots have never driven and the technology is SO flawed. I was just driving 54 mph in a 55 mph zone and the stupid robot with NO driving experience just kept yelling at me to slow down. If I do get reprimanded, or worse, you bet Samsara will have a fat law suit coming their way!
