Hi, I seldom leave bad reviews. Usually they are all good, but here is a different story. And here is why I have been publishing my books on Amazon for some time now without selling any. I came across a YouTube channel called Royalty Heroes. So, I started doing everything that Sean, the proprietor of Royalty Heroes, suggested. I didn't sell any books on Amazon, so I set up a Zoom appointment with him for advice. I did not even get him directly; I got a gentleman named Jacob. He was extremely rude. I thought he would fall asleep halfway through the interview. He told me that he and Shawn could not help me. It was a very disappointing experience. Sincerely, George

We have watched the call recording, and this is what actually happened:
1. George, the reviewer, claimed to have done "everything Sean said," yet didn't have any real titles, gathered zero reviews, and actually did not do many of the things recommended by Sean.
2. George said on the call that he was unwilling to learn any marketing. Which makes it impossible for us to guide him through our program.
3. George spent more than 25% of the call playing with his dog, Rachel, while Jacob from our team was trying to talk to him, which we found very frustrating.
4. Due to above reasons, Jacob determined that George is not a good candidate for the program and let him know—which, as we can see from this 1-star review, was not received well.

Dishonest gathering of contact information.
I applied for their program and filled out the quiz, and after harvesting my email and phone number, they let me know I'm not eligible for the program and sent an offer for a course instead, which is not at all relevant to my situation or the quiz. Taking my contact info was 100% unnecessary to determine eligibility. It feels dishonest and scammy. Please consider asking for contact info after determining that you want to work with a client.
Response from Royalty HeroJul 3, 2026
Hey Vladimir,
The reason for the rejection is because you mentioned in the application that you had limited funds to invest and limited monthly income.
You also mentioned that you did not have much info on KDP and had never published before.
Based on this we believed the best next step for someone in your position is the 7-day book challenge. We even provided you a discount for this course as well. We think this is better than trying to sell you on our more expensive package knowing you weren't a great fit.
Taking the name and email during application is a standard process in any business, but happy to delete them from our database if you'd prefer that.

Silence until pressure, then minimal accountability
I contacted the help center multiple times about an unprofessional coaching session—radio silence.
The moment I left a bad review, 'Shawn' suddenly responded publicly, claiming confusion and insisting they never received my messages.
He suggested I contact the help center again, which I did, assuming this time it would be answered.
After receiving no response, I posted in the Facebook group asking if someone could reply to my emails.
The next day, I finally received a response. They acknowledged after reviewing the recorded session that it wasn't adequate and offered either an extra session or a partial refund.
After I requested the refund, silence—no response for weeks. I posted again in the Facebook group asking for an answer, and my message was deleted.
I screenshotted the deletion and emailed it to them.
Their reply: 'We are on a vacation week in the USA. Please be patient.'
Ten days later, I was told a $1,500 refund would be deposited to my card. Instead, I received four payments of $227.05 + $3.09 each—an amount that makes no logical sense based on what I paid or what I was promised.
I am still trying to solve this with them.
This company's reputation seems built on extreme control and knowing how to exercise it.

Sean here. Several claims in this review are inaccurate. Here’s what actually happened:
1. The “unprofessional coaching” claim is false. Our coach simply recommended proper keyword research so her book would have a real chance of success. Her original idea showed low profitability. She told the coach she “hated keyword research” and claimed it “killed her inspiration” and we had “unclear vibes.”
2. We delivered all curriculum and coaching as promised and even gave her an extra call as a courtesy. After using the deliverables, she demanded a refund and expected an immediate response during Thanksgiving.
3. “I contacted the help center multiple times—radio silence.” This is not true. Our support team responded promptly.
4. “The moment I left a bad review, ‘Shawn’ suddenly responded publicly.” Also not true. I have not responded to her outside of this review. All communication was handled by our support staff.
5. At a certain point, it was clear we could not meet her expectations despite fulfilling our obligations, so we chose to part ways. and issued a $1,500 refund (full program price minus fees). Stripe confirmed the refund, and we sent her proof.
6. She continues to claim she never received it and instead references four payments of $227.05 + $3.09, which are not from us. We have no idea what those charges are. Our refund was properly processed.
7. We asked her for a letter from her bank confirming the refund was not received. She refused to provide it and has since stopped responding.

Save your money - AVOID this course!
I'd like to help someone save their money and avoid this course. First of all, the free 7-day challenge he does is AMAZING, but the $1997 course is far from that.
Amazon KDP can definitely work IF you have a huge budget to spend on ads. (On top of the initial cost of the course, you should have at least another $3,000 for book production, editing, illustrations/cover, book review sites, advertising, etc.) So, already at $5,000. BUT I think it's in module 3 when he starts pushing the 'Elite' program...which is only another $5,000 or so. ("If you are really serious...", "if you really want to turn a profit...", "If you've got specific questions...") So, now you're up to well over $10,000. There's now another tier being offered...god knows how much he's charging for that.
The advice they give everyone is exactly the same. I compared the info I got on my coaching call with a few other people in the course, many of whom were also unhappy with the course. If you don't have a big budget "Make a colouring book", if you get the coach that specialises in medium content books "Make a wordsearch", otherwise you're strongly encouraged to go down the high content route and everyone is churning out cookie cutter crap books on 'decluttering / communication skills / how to stop overthinking / stoicism /etc.'
I don't know how much he is making from actually selling books, but I joined in Nov/Dec 2024 and there were over 100 people who joined the FB group at that time, many of them went onto join the elite program because he threatened that the price was going up. You do the math...about half a million.
Does he know what he's doing? - yes, undoubtedly. But, it's all about buying reviews, setting up lots of different accounts under different names so Amazon doesn't catch you, and spending a fortune in advertising to get a good BSR and maybe after 4-6mths you'll start breaking even and might start making a profit.
He does not share any new information in the course. The youtube videos available to the public are actually far better than the course itself.
Save your money and stay away from this course.
Please note: I was given a full refund when I pointed out issues with the structure of the course from an instructional design point of view, and when I expressed my utter dissatisfaction with the coach I had unfortunately been assigned to. In addition, the Facebook group is heavily policed with any comment not singing Sean's praises being immediately deleted.

I'm extremely disappointed in this review, because not only did we gave her a FULL REFUND when she requested (as she states in her review), we allowed her to keep FULL ACCESS to our programs and facebook group which she used for months after the refund. She even used a coaching call AFTER the refund, which I paid the coaches out of my own pocket.
We genuinely tried to give her a great experience, and that's why we let her keep the program, which we NEVER do normally.
However, we noticed that she continued to spread fear and misinformation within the Facebook group to where we had to step in and remove her access.
Out of all the students we dealt with, she was the only one who ever got FULL ACCESS on top of a FULL REFUND and yet she still left a one star review which again, I'm extremely disappointed Anisa.
The reason for removing her access was because she continued to spread misinformation in the group, which discouraged other members who were genuinely trying to make it happen with KDP.
To clarify all the points she mentioned:
1. "Amazon KDP can definitely work IF you have a huge budget to spend on ads"
- That is not the ONLY way to succeed in ads. We literally have an entire bonus course on low and medium content books, a coach that specializes in DIY style books, and tons of students who succeeded with those low budget publishing strategies. We always offer multiple publishing options depending on their budget.
2. "I think it's in module 3 when he starts pushing the 'Elite' program"
- In the entire course I literally mention the Elite program once, in Module 2, as an optional upgrade. I specifically say it's "optional" in the lesson so people don't feel pressured to join. And we created the Elite program in the first place because people asked for more coaching calls.
3. "everyone is churning out cookie cutter crap books on 'decluttering / communication skills / how to stop overthinking / stoicism"
- While some students may be in those niches, it's definitely not "everyone" and it's definitely not "cookie cutter". That's the whole point of offering coaching calls so we can review your books and make sure it's not "cookie cutter" so it has the highest chance to stand out and succeed in the market place.
4. "many of them went onto join the elite program because he threatened that the price was going up."
- We didn't "threatened" anything. We said we would raise the price incase anyone wants to join before that, and we DID raise the price. It wasn't a fake scarcity tactic.
5. "it's all about buying reviews, setting up lots of different accounts under different names so Amazon doesn't catch you, and spending a fortune in advertising to get a good BSR"
- This is not what we teach at all. We don't teach to "Set up different accounts so Amazon doesn't catch you". We teach to build a brand and focus on one niche. "Spending a fortune on advertising". You should spend some on ads, but you should be recouping your investment on the way not just spending and losing money for no reason.
6. "He does not share any new information in the course."
- It's unfortunate that she is not in the program anymore to see all the new lessons that will be added soon, such as an entirely new module on TikTok marketing coming in a week, and tons of other lessons coming up over the next few months.
7. "Facebook group is heavily policed with any comment not singing Sean's praises being immediately deleted."
- No, you can talk bad about me all you want. Just don't spread misinformation that may discourage people who are genuinely trying to make it work with KDP.
Again we really try to be fair. We don't make people jump through hoops if they want a refund, we even try to go above and beyond to make sure they end with a great experience, and despite that, Anisa decided to leave a 1 star review.
I really hope you find what you're looking for Anisa, whatever that is. I wish you the best of luck.
- Sean

I had an appointment with someone from their team for an online meeting. Stupid of me to delete it, I would have put his name up here. Anyway, I waited in Google for almost twenty minutes, no one showed. Later that day, I received an email from that person, told me that I should be more mindful of other people's time. Good thing I took a screenshot of me all alone in that Google Meet. I replied, told him that THEY should be respectful of other people's time & take their business seriously. SCAMMERS! And if they're not, they're not serious about their career/reputation. I know it was earlier this year, but not sure exactly when. Don't waste your time buying into his nonsense and paying thousands for something you can figure out yourself with the help of AI.
IMPORTANT: As stated before, I deleted the email. I have no way to find out what the douchebag I spoke with his name is nor the day of said interview. All I know is that it was earlier this year.

Hey we’re sorry this happened but we don’t use google meet, we use Zoom. The email you received is an automated email we send out when the call is booked because we've had a lot of people who book calls but don't show up. It says the following:
"This is a discovery session to see if the Royalty Hero program is the right fit for you.
Please respect our time and others' time by only booking an appointment you can attend. If you cannot make it, let us know or cancel the meeting in advance.
Thank you and talk soon."
Our records show that our coach was waiting for you on the call, but due to the confusion, you didn’t show up to the Zoom.
I get that tech can get confusing sometimes, but it’s unfortunate that it lead you to leave a one star review

Very rude staff
I have felt that I'm someone who can benefit from coaching. I also want to take my Amazon KDP efforts seriously and to a much higher level. I was ready to pull the trigger, and my consultation got cancelled, I thought it was an accident so I tried to reschedule. Cancelled again and when I inquired, the person who was supposedly my contact, Jacob Rothenberg, emailed me, talked down to me like I was a child, stated the cost of the program (I was aware, ready to purchase) and suggested I go find a job. I'm 57 years old and found this to be the most unprofessional response to a customer I've ever experienced.
I suggest finding other ways to educate yourself on Amazon KDP than this, there are cheaper coaches out there who will ultimately teach you more, and are infinitely more professional in their conduct.

Hi Shasta,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m really sorry to hear about your experience, and I appreciate you bringing this to my attention.
After reviewing the situation and reading through the email conversation with Jacob, it seems the call was canceled because your application mentioned being unemployed with no cash flow. Since our program is $1,997, and we recommend having some additional funds to produce and market your books to fully leverage our strategies, Jacob made the assumption that the program might not be the best fit for you at this time.
However, you mentioned in your review that you were ready to join even after knowing the price, and I apologize that you weren’t given the option to move forward. You should have at least had the opportunity to decide for yourself, and we regret that this wasn’t handled differently.
Regarding the suggestion to "go find a job," I understand how that might have come across, and I’m sorry if it felt dismissive. What Jacob intended to convey was that, since building a sustainable publishing business requires some upfront investment, finding traditional employment could be a helpful way to generate cash flow and reinvest in your publishing journey more quickly.
We do sometimes cancel calls when applicants indicate they have no resources to invest, as the last thing we want is to sell our program to someone who might end up in a difficult financial situation. But in your case, we could have communicated this more thoughtfully and offered the option to proceed with a call if you were still interested after understanding the full context.
I’m truly sorry again for the negative experience you had, and I appreciate your honesty. We’ll use this feedback to improve our communication so we can better serve potential students moving forward.
Best,
Sean

Please be careful, fishing for reviews on youtube
Please be careful! This company is asking people on youtube -who just see free content- to leave reviews here. Today I received a youtube message where the followers are asked to leave at least 500 reviews before anymore special content is released. @trustpilot: not sure if this is even acceptabel to your guidelines. I would avoid this company. Strong warning!
Addition to reply: I watched a lot of free videos. I was then analyzing further services from you. Clearly I wanted to doublecheck here on Trustpilot. Iwas very surprised about the number of reviews here because I wondered if really that many people could afford this. Looked fishy to me. Now, as it turns out the reviews here are predominantly not about the paid program. This is not clear at all. I find this very misleading. Question remains, is this done on purpose or not?
Addition 2 to reply: The 7day challenge is given freely quite often I guess. I got it for free over YT. So again not clear if people have actually paid for that. Your reply is misleading as you did not reveal the free give away practice. The reviews here are all over the place, at least according to my research. Please tidy this mess up here. If people who bought your stuff are satisfied - great. But this mix and mingle off free, paid or paid but free give away stuff here is questionable. Sorry.
Response from Royalty HeroJan 29, 2025
Hi Lomo, Sean here. Thanks for sharing your feedback.
If you look at this article by Trust Pilot on "Who can leave a review?" you can see that it states that anyone who interacted with the service/website/product can leave a review regardless of if they purchased or not.
https://support.trustpilot.com/hc/en-us/articles/205675248-Who-can-write-a-review-and-when
My free content on YouTube is all provided under the Royalty Hero brand. Which is why I clearly asked for an honest review based on the free content people watched and their experience of it. Hope that makes sense.
However, if you read the reviews we have on here you will see that the majority of them are actual paid customers that are either in our Royalty Hero program or the 7 Day Challenge.
Reply to Addition 2: It sounds like the reason for your 1 star review is because of the fact that some of the reviews are coming from those who consumed our free content, whether from the educational videos or the 7 day challenge that we did a one-time free promotion for (we don't do this often, it was just one time).
But like I said before, even if it's free, it's still part of the Royalty Hero brand and according to Trustpilot guidelines here, people can leave a review on their experience going through it.
https://support.trustpilot.com/hc/en-us/articles/205675248-Who-can-write-a-review-and-when
Since you've gone through the 7 day challenge, I wish you've left a review based on your experience there instead of the confusion with the Trustpilot guidelines, but either way I hope you enjoyed the challenge and found it valuable.
Wish you all the best with your KDP journey.
Best, Sean.

$8,000 wasted. Royalty Hero by Sean Dollwet.
$8,000 wasted. Sean Dollwet is trying so bad to delete my review. All I say is think for yourself: If he would actually make so much money with KDP, would he sell a program to the masses?
Response from Royalty HeroJun 1, 2024
Hi Robert, Sean here.
You've made a few statements that are incorrect that I will respond here:
1. I still make money from Amazon KDP. If you watch any of my content you will see that I constantly show my dashboard for proof.
2. We don't have a $8000 package. We do have a $7800 package that is a 12 month 1 on 1 mentorship where you get to work with a coach directly, however, I searched for your name in our member list and you did not come up. I requested you to share more info so we can identify you in our program and help you better. We also have a course that is much cheaper.
3. We have monthly calls where you can talk directly with me, and I have been PERSONALLY answering every question that is posted in the facebook support group literally every single day for the past 3 years of this program. If you're truly in the program you would know that, which makes me believe you're not actually a student.
4. It's disappointing that you feel that all information is on YouTube (although it's not), but the real value comes from the hands on support that you get through the weekly and monthly calls, and the fact that I personally answer any questions members post in the group within 24 hours, regardless of whether it's the weekend or a holiday.
Again, I requested you to share more info about you so we can identify you as our student and help you better.
Best
Sean
