discriminatory cabin allocation, poor customer service
We are Gold status guests on Royal Carribean and previously had very positive opinions of this cruise line. No more. We booked a GUAR balcony cabin some weeks ago on the Quantum of the Seas out of Brisbane on the 29th January. Since then, the cost of the cabins has gone down very substantially, indicating that the cruise is far from sold out. Yet when we looked at our cabin allocation we found that we were allocated the lowest level of obstructed view cabin, even though the higher cabin categories are still available at a much reduced price compared to what we paid. Although strictly speaking this is consistent with the GUAR provisions, in reality this shows extremely poor customer relations - give your loyal returning customers who paid a higher price the worst cabin when better cabins are still available at a much lower cost? This shows no appreciation or loyalty to your returning customers. When we asked our agent, Cruise Guru, to look into the matter, we were advised that will do nothing.

Disgusted and ripped off
We booked and fully paid for our Cruise (April 2024) but Royal Carribean have NOW informed us that parts of the ship and not working (and will not be working in April 2024) and that some of the Islands we were to visit have been cancelled meaning that we have to spend 8 days (out of our 10 day cruise) at sea.
They are making it impossible to cancel and refuse to offer any compensation.

Mind blowing drinks package prices
Please be very careful, drinks packages are more expensive that the cost of the cruises.

Sailed with anthem of the seas to…
Sailed with anthem of the seas to norway, it was a family holiday to help us all get over the death of a close family member. On arrival at port we were told we couldn't board as we didn't have a signed letter from a solicitor to say I could take my grandchild out of the country. I explained we were told by there customer service that we only need a signed letter from the parent. So everyone boarded I sat with my grandaughter who is 13 in floods of tears trying frantically to get a solicitor on a Sunday to do a signed letter. Luckily I have a friend who is a solicitor who helped us out. Four hours later we all boarded. We all came to dinner to find that the family had been booked on different tables in different restaurants, again there was tears ,took an hour for the restaurant manager to sort it. Even though we had booked as a family, .my grandson is autistic we informed the kids club leader we had been told royal carribean were really good with special needs. He came back from kids club crying because the lady there had embarrassed him in front of everyone saying " you are walking like you s..t yourself" which he took to heart, what professional person would say that to a boy??.
On day four I got food poisoning, I was really ill, thr dr came to see me and said I was quarantined to the cabin for the next 24 to 48 hours that I could use room service, but also my mum who was sharing the room with me who is 86, with dementia was also not allowed out of the cabin.i phoned room service for food and they said I'm only allowed dry toast and water, I said it was for my mum,in the end I had to get family to bring food up for mum. I couldn't wait to get off the ship, I wrote along letter to complain about our awful holiday, and they offered me £130 off another cruise, for myself and mum. They wouldn't even refund the drinks package we had paid for on the days we couldn't drink because of the food poisoning. I would never cruise with them again the ship looks tired and worn, and the ques for the self service restaurants was awful, and even if you got food it was a nightmare trying to get a table. Royal carribean are not a patch on po cruises, avoid this company and thus ship, my whole family thought it was a holiday from hell, a total waste of money.

Ruined holiday experience with Royal…
My recent experience with Royal Caribbean has been profoundly disappointing in every respect, following my attempt to take a four-day trip from Singapore.
I had arranged my journey two weeks prior to the departure date, and my account was promptly debited with the requisite charges. Shortly thereafter, I received an email, confirming that I was ready to embark on their Spectrum of the Seas voyage. I verified my reservation on the Royal Caribbean's official app, where my room details and name were correctly listed.
I travelled to the port a day before the ship was due to depart, only to be informed upon arrival that my reservation was not acknowledged due to an alleged lack of payment. I provided the check-in staff with all the necessary documents, including the confirmation email that attested to my readiness to sail. Regardless of my earnest efforts, I was denied boarding, leading to the devastation of my holiday plans.
The manner in which the staff dealt with the situation was thoroughly disrespectful. We were made to wait for over three and a half hours, merely to collect our checked-in luggage, while the ship set off without us. Despite clear evidence of the confirmation emails I received, as well as the deduction from my account, they refused to admit any mistake on their part.
As of today, I am still awaiting an explanation from Royal Caribbean regarding this deeply disappointing incident.

First Cruise booking....and probably last!!
We are yet to travel with Royal Caribbean, Enchantment of the Sea, this will be mine and my 2 childrens first ever cruise and to say that we were excited was an understatement...... However following the death of my stepfather (who was travelling with us) Royal Carribean service has been absolutely appalling. All we wanted to do was go into a bigger room so that my Mum wasn't on her own and recieve a refund for the things that my Stepfather had booked. You would think that this would be straight forward.......right....Will not according to Royal Caribbean!!! They refunded the whole drinks package for my Mum and Stepfather and then expects my Mum to then rebook at the current prices which are far more then what it was, expect us to pay an extra $3000+ towards a bigger room......that quite frankly was quite shabby looking when i looked at it, then proceed to hound my Mum for payment that she doesn't know what its for and threaten to cancel the holiday if she doesn't pay......this woman has only just lost her Husband 3 months ago.....is fragile as it is and this is how they treat their vulnerable customers!!!! I certainly will NOT EVER be sailing on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship EVER because they are S**T at being able to comprehend when you are needing help!!
GOOD customer service should mean LOW EFFORT for the consumer we should not be doing ALL the work......

Did a cruise back to back in the Caribbean and was so excited about it.
