We refunded the deposit on October 1st, but as we explained, it takes up to 10 business days. Today is October 8th. Unfortunately, we do not yet own neither your credit card company nor your bank to speed up the process.

On a recent trip to NC I rented a…
On a recent trip to NC I rented a Motorcycle to ride with some friends. I rented through Riders Share. My buddy drove me to the owner of the bike’s home. I got out of the the car to inspect the bike and found the front tire was BALD. When I brought that up to the owner, he said…… “Oh, I just got the bike back from a 7 day rental”
REALLY???? In 7 days the tread was worn off and you didn’t have the sense to inspect the bike BEFORE we drove 45 mins to pick it up?
I obviously cancelled the rental on the spot.
The take away, if you’re gunna rent a Motorcycle on the Riders Share app, make sure to SPEAK with the owner and have them take Pictures of the tires so you can see them BEFORE you drive there to pick up the bike.
Very disappointed in Riders Share and the owner for their lack of responsibility to the renters.
PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO YOUR MOTORCYCLE FRENDS IMMEDIATELY. It may just save a rider’s life.

We are so sorry to hear this happened and that this host wasted your time.
Some riders are capable of doing lots of miles in 7 days and create unexpected problems for the host - but he should’ve warned you before you drove there, unacceptable.
Per our policies, we issue full refunds in these situations and also issue you substantial credits to compensate for the lost time. If you did not, please email [email protected] to receive them.
Again, we apologize for this experience. It is not representative of Riders Share.

Dishonest, misleading.
Advertised a rental for $39 a day. By the time I got to checkout it was over $250 with a $3,000 deposit... what a scam. Any company willing to be so dishonest in their advertising isn't one to be trusted. My insurance company would have charged me less than $25 dollars for a whole month of coverage on this motorcycle.
EDIT: Ridershare's response is absurd. I have a 750+ credit score, perfect driving record with no tickets or at fault accidents and was seeking to rent a fairly inexpensive metric cruiser bike. They're absolutely being dishonest.
Response from Riders ShareAug 3, 2026
Sorry Phil, our insurance prices are risk based including driving records, your choice of bike, etc. Prices are that low for most people, but to achieve that, we have to filter some other people. We do limit the insurance cost to $15 a day if your credit is over 700, so please email [email protected] as this doesn't seem right

Last Fall I rented my 2022 BMWF900xr to a Persian guy who said he had experience renting motorcycles from all over the US. I looked for his ratings as a renter and didn't find anything - but he talked a good game.
3 weeks later he returned the bike with a bald tire and cracked saddle bag and very dirty. I keep my bikes in mint condition at all times. - This cost me $1,400 to return it to proper condition, the worse for wear. My net rent was $800. I tried to give this fellow a bad rating (he gave me perfect marks, as he should)... but that was blocked. Never again will I use this service. The company does not respond to your concerns and never answers their phone. total scam! Dr. Eggert, Burke, VA

No safety measures in place, crazy and hostile business
First time I rented a bike and halfway through the ride I noticed extremely loose handlebars, spongy shocks, and brake issues. Pulled the bike over for more thorough inspection and found a lot of serious safety issues. Contacted Riders Share after returning the bike and they sided with the owner for liability reasons and then retaliated against me for raising the issues by leaking my credit report infor in n email thread with numerous people including the bike owner, and accused me of not being trustworthy based on a credit card payment reported as late. I complained the the government and BBB so the company retaliated again by charging me all kinds of erroneous fees that I had to dispute with my bank to recover. The CEO himself even interjected and was in fact the one who leaked my credit report information. Then he personally deleted my account so I could not have any record of anything.

Hello,
This review is patently false.
The credit report was not leaked outside Riders Share. We use credit reports in internal underwriting only.
Your security deposit was refunded.
You were suspended from Riders Share for sending inappropriate, insulting texts to the host; for abandoning the bike with the keys in a public area; and for making false statements to us about it.
We will reach out to TripAdvisor for removal.

Do Yourself a Favor: Don’t
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to rent a motorcycle while simultaneously completing an obstacle course in bureaucracy, look no further than Riders Share. The service fee alone made me question my life choices, but the real adventure begins with the check-in process — a solid 30 minutes of tapping, uploading, photographing, confirming, swearing, and hoping the platform doesn’t glitch. Spoiler: you get to do that whole circus again when you return the bike.
By the end of it, I realized I could’ve just bought another motorcycle, ridden it, and sold it — all in less time than this rental required. If you enjoy lengthy digital scavenger hunts and high fees, this platform is perfect. If you prefer to, you know… ride, maybe look elsewhere.
Response from Riders ShareNov 30, 2025
The check in process requires uploading 5 pictures of the bike to document the state before and after each rental to avoid problems.
If you think that is bureaucratic, wait until you rent a car!

Riders Share trying to rip me off
I just tried to rent through Riders Share for a 9 day trip. The listing indicated it was $50/day, crossed out and reduced to $36/day. On checkout, I saw that the daily price I would be charged was still $50, and that Riders Share has added an un-noted $101.25 "service fee". I won't do business this way and I'd encourage you not to either.
Response from Riders ShareJan 2, 2026
I apologize for the fees of $11.2 a day. Unfortunately, our competitors add fees at the end too. We have experimented with all inclusive pricing, and sales dropped 20%. While we all hate fees, at least we offer the lowest all inclusive price. You will not be able to find a bike for $47 a day anywhere else. The price was $50 and discounted to $36 for duration discounts.

Damage Waiver is a Rip Off
I've rented bikes on riders-share.com before and it was a fine experience. Last week, I rented a 2013 Triumph Bonneville T100 and was charged $165 for Minimum Damage Waiver for 1 day rental. I have been riding over 25 years. The Damage Deductible was $4,000 and Liability / Theft / TL Deductible was $5000. The bike is probably only worth $2000 tops. This is absolutely ludicrous to charge that much. I called Customer Support and was told the premium is based on rider experience, age, bike value. No explanation what factor drove the premium that high. I'll not be using this service again and wouldn't recommend it to any else.
Response from Riders ShareJan 2, 2026
I apologize, we use 35 factors and a neural network to predict risk; the staff don't really know. It could've been the bike itself for lacking ABS brakes; it could've been your credit score. This system helps us keep prices 50% lower than competitors on average while still helping the company remain profitable.
