I have spent 3 months TRYING to get this system working. It takes about 1 hour (on average) EVERY day calling in, troubleshooting, repeating myself to the multi-tiers of overseas support people. This month, my sales were overstated/reported by 12%. My tax owed (based on this report) is 10% more than tax collected. They don't know basic business and accounting. Yes service fees ARE taxable. No systems for accounts receivable Techs all disagree with each other as to what our issues are and how they can be fixed.

They rolled out an outstanding system but we are their test pilots. Great 24 hour support but the people you chat with have little to no understanding as to how it applies to business. Frequently after a 20 minute conversation you will be escalated to the next level. Prepare to be on the phone for 30 minutes before you get the attention that you need, icky. My book keeper has spent almost 80 hours trying to get the information to upload to quick books, costing me thousands of dollars. If I had it to do over I would purchase a simpler system. We've been live since the first week in February and we have 6-8 open tickets all the time, its ridiculous. They sold me a system without the zebra printer, add another $500.00 even though we requested it in the beginning. They sold me a system that is not compliant to California state law, no visual display for customers add another $500.00. I can not at this time recommend this to anyone. Im in the process of interviewing so that I can have someone work my shifts so I can figure this pig out! $3,000.00 in product and $2,500.00 to my book keeper and another $250.00 to a Quickbooks Master to help her. Yikes, I equate this to a 1971 Vega. Argh!

One of my card swipe terminals failed during a Revel software upgrade, so I was forced to replace it and it cost a lot more than what I paid for the original just 6 months prior. And to date Revel has not been able to assist me in getting details for the failed card swipe so that I can get it repaired. The quote that got me was "we're just a software company, hardware is not our responsibility". I will say the level 2 support I got for installing the new terminal was very good.

Revel has been a large roller coaster of poor experiences. They make you call for EVERYTHING. I can't change any of my establishment settings without calling them. You have no control over what really matters. If your a POS admin for your company you need to be able to configure things on your own. If I wanted someone to be able to control my POS system I would have outsourced for everything. If you need your labels or receipts to look different you have to pay a higher monthly fee because "they have to be able to train people on how to edit and service the custom template" well they wouldn't have to if they would let their users configure their own information.

The support tends to be very scripted and lacks knowledge. Outages are rarely explained and tend to be excused as "maintenance" during prime retail hours. We currently plan on switching back to our previous point of sale provider
