Untrustworthy Company
Revel is a good product with an unreliable team and untrustworthy company.
Most of the commitments made were not honored even after extensive followup.
We had much bigger plans to go with the product but unfortunately we had roll back with our plans due to the unprofessional attitude of the team.

Hi Abdus,
Apologies for what sounds like a frustrating situation. I took a look into your ticket history and it looks like everything was resolved as you requested. I apologize if there had been a miscommunication, but it looks like everything was settled.
Please feel free to contact me via [email protected] if you would like to voice any concerns.

Poor customer relations
To begin, I signed a contract knowingly, and this is not a reflection of that contract. It is more about how they have handled contacting me both in selling me and in my recent inquire into 1. Billing and 2. My hopes of pausing the contract.
When I contacted them, the rep was easy to understand and seemed helpful enough to get my message to the right department(s). He told me billing would email separately from customer relations to address each issue. The next day I got an email, saying you signed a contract and we can't help you. No mention of my billing question at all. Just a no we can't help. Again my issue isn't with the contract, I signed it knowingly and have my own reason to attempt to pause it. My issue is from the contact back. No phone call, no attempt to solve the more important issue(billing), no customer relations, just a single sentence email. I feel like they see me as one thing now, $. Nothing else. Is that business, yes. Is that this world, seems to be. I wish the customer support was as friendly and willing to contact as the sales men.
TL;DR
Lack of customer support, poor contact skills.
Edit;
After reply from revel. Still no mention or attempt to look into my bigger issue, which is billing. As in I need to pay a bill and I can't talk to any body about it. A simple phone call would be awesome.

Hi Brian,
I am sorry that there has been some confusion around the ability to pause your account and your contract. Some types of contracts allow for pausing and others do not, which is what it sounds like you have. I do not have your info, so I cannot look into the matter specifically, but you are welcome to email me at [email protected]. I will certainly look into our communication - it sounds like we have room for improvement and I do apologize. You are always welcome to request to work with our Client Relations team. Again, all apologies for the experience - your feedback is important to us.

Have been looking forward to start …
Have been looking forward to start using the new system but alas since saying "YES" to Revel we have not heard anything.
I have messaged, emailed and rang the sales person I dealt with but to no avail, the sales person knew I was looking to commence immediately but obviously no care after the sale as such!!
Disappointing start Revel!!!

I'm giving REVEL one star NOT because …
I'm giving REVEL one star NOT because of REVEL's POS but because I want to warn anyone buying this system to NOT Finance their system with "Time Payment" of Burlington who they do their financing with.
The agreements they use allow them to make up terms after your first couple payments. I started getting new amounts billed to my credit card. I contacted "Time Payment" to ask what they were and the agent kept saying "Taxes" read your contract as if I were ignorant to the fact. I simply replied yes I understand taxes are 7% and on a payment of $253.10 that should be $270.82... Why are you billing me $301.02 I inquired.. They said well those are "Property taxes" and I requested a breakdown of what they are charging me for the taxes on a simple invoice which they have refused to provide.
BE WARNED - this finance company is "Shady" and conducts themselves in a negative manner because they realize most restaurant owners are not very sophisticated or have the time to do the research of taxes and will just go away. They have the wrong person this time.

horrible system
i dont know why i stuck with this pos system and i had so much hard time with the techs those who got hired from non english speaking countries. They always try to learn from you than fix your problem. i gave up calling them. Just looking for the better service with different company
Response from Revel SystemsMar 13, 2017
Hi Chand,
I am sorry to hear that you do not like working with Support outside of the U.S. We actually have several Support centers, the first being here in Texas, another in Florida, at our HQ in San Francisco, and, yes, Lithuania & Serbia. They work really hard to understand our customers' issues and get them resolved as quickly as possible.
I've taken a look at your ticket history and it appears that you do not have any open issues at present, but I will reach out to you directly to hear more about your experience. Thank you for your feedback.

Nothing You Have Not Heard Before
Starts with the salesmen ,Who I will refer to as Revels used car salesmen. Promise you that every concern you have can work with this system, when in fact it all is a LIE . Every question , oh not a problem it does that, I now have read tons of reviews I believe all the 5 stars are done by the sales department to pull the unbelievably poor customer service reviews up. If my company or any small company did business like Revel does we would be out of business and with Revel sucking the money out of my bank account at the rate that they are I will lucky to be in business for the year I signed their contract for. So many problems that they assigned me a person " Liaison" so their would no longer be any documents OR problem tickets to go back on. I ask in the first conversation with her to send me the procedure for writing an order/ invoice so it will remain open until a customer picks up the merchandise that was a week ago. Oh did I mention that is only 1 of 6 times I have asked for that in the course of 6 month and still not one correct response. I did get two responses both incorrect and both different. I called about Purchase Orders , why if I order 2 and 1 comes in I can change the the receiving quantity 1 but if I order 2 and 0 come in I can not just change the receiving quantity to 0? Every time I call the help desk I get tier 1 and after 10 to 20 minutes with them I hear I need to transfer you to tier 2 then I get we will look in to that , but no answer. In 6 months time there have been more problems then solutions. Of course I should have done my home work on Revel before I signed the contract , then I would have known this system is for a food court restaurants or a clothing store, NOT A LIGHTING SHOWROOM / STORE. BIG BIG WAIST OF MONEY AND NO WAY TO GET IT BACK. But what I can do is make sure I post my review on one site a day until everybody knows about the POOR customer service and the LIES to get you to purchase their useless Revel POS system. I could go on but I have other sites to post on. And please do not send me an empty " I'm sorry for your bad experience or your frustration" because it has went beyond that already, I have seen that on all of your replies to the 1/3 on your customers who write a poor review. Think about that 3 out of 10 customer are saying the same thing about your company Revel.
Date 03/22/17 update
Apparently the changes did not fix the problem. I will explain, a customer ordered 2 mirror to the tune of $1100.00 . They will be choosing one of them for their hotel chain , which equates to about a $10,000 .00 profit for my company.
But this system that I was sold did not generate a Product Inventory Reorder Notification for these items ,but it did tell me to order items that I already have on a PO. This is not the first time it has told me to order something I did not need, last time it was a $3,000.00 chandelier that no one had ever placed on an order or an invoice. So, NO the problems with Revels system are not getting resolved. There is a 3 hour difference between my location and Jamie so as nice as she is there is to much delay between problem and solution if there is ever a solution at all. I find it very hard to understand most of the people that answer the customer support lines. The last young lady that I spoke with wanted to do a factor reset on the system which I am sure would have dump all my open orders and invoices. Now 7 months into the Revel system and I still have to personal go through every order every day to make sure what ever needs to be ordered get ordered. Now I find out there is no way to see who I sold an item to unless I go through every order , Does Revel even have an idea of what there doing???? I am even more disgusted with this system today than before. Revel is being paid every month for a system that is not correct as of yet and I feel they do not care if it ever works the way I was told it would work, as long as they get their money every month they are happy.
This is the response I got from the customer support team: Jamie Lee (Revel Systems)

Hello Pat,
Thank you for writing in regarding an issue you are having with the system not generating reports. My team and I are happy to help with more information. I have not heard of this issue before so we will need to delve in to the issue to get to the root so this does not occur going forward.
As there have been legal threats, I, nor anyone on my team will be able to work with you given the event that you would like to proceed with this route.
Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

Hi Pat,
I am sorry to hear that you have had such a poor experience. It looks like you were sold Revel by our partner, Intuit. I am sorry to hear you did not feel like your rep was transparent - that is not the experience we want for any of our customers. Our Support team works very hard to provide great service and troubleshoot quickly - of course, that is not always the case - your feedback is appreciated as it sounds like we may have some room for improvement.
I believe you are working with an agent on our Client Relations team - that might be the "liaison" you mention - and they work in the same platform using help desk "tickets" as our Support team does - they have visibility into every ticket for your account and are able to monitor service to ensure that you are getting the assistance you need. If you need a quick answer, you may always search our Support site to find guides to our platform (i.e. https://support.revelsystems.com/hc/en-us/articles/204303785-Invoices-Deposits).
Lastly, I am the Community Manager at Revel. I work with our customers to share their input with our product team and our leadership. I do my best reach out directly to each and every customer who has left us a poor review to get to the heart of the matter, especially in cases if they are not already working with our customer service team - and that is, of course, not visible on this site. Thank you for your feedback regarding my responses. I will happily hear your feedback if you would like to set up a time to discuss it over the phone.
Regards,
Sarah
