I purchased points on this site as part of a promotion. Terrible investment. First the restaurants that they work with in my local area are not what you would expect from the promotion. Second I went to a restaurant ordered my food and when I tried to use a certificate to pay they would not accept the certificate. Third when I reached out they said I would get my points back but I don't want the points back I really just want my money back. If you can find a restaurant you want to eat at you can likely get a good deal of they accept the certificate. Good luck.

Hi Dorian, That’s understandably frustrating, especially since you had already ordered. Restaurants offering deals through Restaurant.com agree to accept our certificates, so this is not how your visit should have gone. Our team returned your points so you would not lose the value of the certificate and could remain whole. Your points never expire and can be used at another participating restaurant you choose - anywhere in the U.S. Selection does vary by area - with larger cities/areas having more selection. We appreciate you letting us know what happened as it helps keep the network clean for other users!

I joined in 2011. At first we found a few certificates useful. Then they seemed to stop working, so I took a break and actually forgot I still had so many points left. Recently I tried again because we now reside in a different area. We drove 20 miles to a restaurant only to be told sorry, those are not honored here. I went home and decided to CALL ahead - I called the first 11 places on the list "near us"- 3 were permanently closed, 7 said they do not take them, several said they stopped taking them more than 2 years ago! One even said they stopped bc Restaurant.com did not honor their part in the discount. Round Table pizza is the ONLY one that said yes "because they'll take any coupon with their correct address on it". DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS WEBSITE!!!!

Hi Roberta, We're sorry to hear about your experience and thanks for being a longtime customer of Restaurant.com. While your certificates from 2011 are still valid to be exchanged, it is a very good idea to call ahead. Since 2011, the COVID pandemic really hurt the restaurant industry and many restaurants changed ownership or closed entirely. We've been working feverishly to identify and remove restaurants from our website that fall under this category so that our directory is fresh and reliable as it always had been - pre-pandemic. Please know that you can exchange your unused certificates from 2011 with no questions asked. Your points never expire so you are free to choose any other participating restaurant that you'd like. We hope you try something new and have an amazing meal out!

I wish I never purchased a card most restaurants do not even accept this card. It's a shame! if i new i would have never got it from them they wont even resolve this issue!!!

Hi Karen, We've reached out to you for further information in an effort to help you. If you have a physical card with a code on it, you must redeem it on our website first simply by entering the code. Then you can choose a restaurant that is participating. To claim your savings, bring either a printed certificate to the restaurant or show the digital certificate on the Restaurant.com app (no printer required!). Please respond back and we are happy to address your issue.

80% of these restaurants have either closed down many years ago and/or changed owners who don't honor anything from this fraudulent company. The fact that they don't update which one's are valid is a slap in the face to the customer and any common sense not to update their dinosaur of a website or app. I'm 0-4 the last four places I've tried to redeem anything and the businesses have even been rude and abrupt to me when you bring it up... completely unacceptable and embarrassing that they still claim to be legitimate with their completely fake responses on this site. Customer service is horrible, the BBC should shut them down. Don't be surprised if your let down like a lot of people on this site including me. Restaurants.com your a debocle of a sham of a mockery of a disgrace! Don't bother to even respond with some corny AI-bot reply, no one's buying your BS. Just admit you don't give a crap for your very small customer base trying to keep you afloat. Congrats, your the worst of the worst!

Hi Dan, We're sorry you feel this way. The pandemic did a number on the restaurant industry and destroyed many local dining establishments. We're not sure when the last time you check in with us was, but we've made quite a few changes in the past year. We've been working tirelessly to identify and remove restaurants who did not make it through the pandemic and at the same time, we are bringing on many new restaurants to fill that void. We're also under new management and our top priority is a clean and reliable restaurant directory - and we've made serious progress in achieving this. We hope you'll give us another try to see how much progress has been made to support our country's local restaurant community. All the best to you!

I would give zero stars if I could. Buyer beware. I purchased certificates from this company back in 2015 and they worked fine. When I bought again in 2024, everything fell apart. Now I'm out the money. I called restaurants within a 100‑mile radius, and not a single one recognized the company or accepted the certificates. Every restaurant I spoke with — owners and managers included — said they do not honor them. When I contacted Restaurant.com for a refund, they refused. I explained that none of the listed restaurants would accept the certificates, and I was told I “didn’t know what I was talking about.” Out of 50 restaurants, zero accepted the certificates. That should tell you everything.

Hi "Around the Corner" - We're sorry to hear about your experience. And many of our most loyal customers also have certificates from over a decade ago. As you're probably aware, the pandemic destroyed many local restaurants - the types of restaurants that are part of the Restaurant.com family. You'll need to call ahead to see if restaurants from 10+ years ago are still in business. Whether they are or aren't, you are always welcome to exchange your certificates for new restaurants - even your certificates from over 10 years ago are eligible for exchange. We hope you'll exchange your old certs for new restaurants that have come on board since the pandemic. All the best to you - and we hope your next dining adventure is amazing!

It does look suspicious. I am writing regarding my recent reservation (#396) for four adults on Sunday, April 5th, at 5:00 PM. I want to bring to your attention several issues during our visit. - We were not seated until 5:30 PM - Water and bread did not arrive until 5:50 PM, - Our order was not taken until 6:10 PM, at which point we were informed that they were out of prime rib. - Our food finally arrived at 7:02 PM and was served cold. QUESTION: The main complaint -- The receipt said gratuity not included. Why did the tip guide recommend only drinks and not food? 15% $8.29, 18% $9.94, and 20% $11.05. We had a set price for a three-course meal, $80 per person. I gave the waiter an $80.00 tip. The bill was $402.62. Kevin M. Milleridge, Inn-Jericho, Long Island, New York

Hi Kevin, Thanks for reaching out to us. It sounds like you and your guest had a meal somewhere and the service wasn't great. Unfortunately, we can only manage the discounting portion of the experience. We hope you at least got a great deal and we're so happy to see people out and dining again!

I bought 2 coupons on restaurant.com. one restaurant was no longer in existence and the other had never heard of the program and did not honor the coupon. Buyer beware!

Hi EM, We're sorry to hear about your experience - that is not the experience we want you or any diners to have. And thankfully, most diners have a great experience. Our team would be happy to speak with you about the restaurant difficulties you encountered to help sort it out. We aggressively remove inactive restaurants as soon as we hear about them and would love to understand more if you're willing to assist. Thanks so much for being a loyal Restaurant.com diner!
