RestReviews of rest.com

Shipping est. was Sep 4. Now shipping est. Sep 11-21. Tracking says "ordered", not even shipped, as of 4 days after ordering. No tracking number provided. Phone number + order # did not find order. Website for product was fine. Using Truemed HSA option was good. Received about 10 emails from Rest.com after ordering. Very spammy, feels kind of like a scam company to be honest. Even now during this review form, I'm being asked if I want to receive more emails from some other company for recommendations and tips and news. Not sure what that is even for.

It’s not clear what you are getting when trying to choose items. The free gift incentive is what you already purchase in the sets. Free pillowcases but nothing to match it with unless you purchase a new set.

I find it very difficult to use my rewards

Edit to reply to Rest response to my experience: “Our warranty covers material defects like fabric damage or construction failure, since the cooling is knit into the fibers themselves and cannot wear off on its own, which is why the claim fell outside coverage.” If the fabric is no longer cooling as advertised how is this NOT fabric damage or construction failure if the cooling is knit into the fibers? Obviously the fibers are damaged and is not fibers what makes up FABRIC?? This is the most insane double talk I’ve ever heard. Fabric is made of fibers. The construction of this fabric with these fibers is to create a cooling effect. The cooling effect has failed = the construction has failed = the fabric / fibers have failed. And Rest is failing to admit that their product is time limited and only lasts less than a year. Bought these sheets almost a year ago for $300 — well within their warranty period — specifically for the "Evercool" cooling technology, the core selling point of the entire product. For about 6 months they performed as advertised. I laundered them exactly per care instructions, and they've since lost virtually all cooling function. I contacted customer service and pointed to their own warranty language, which covers "components that fail despite normal use and proper care." I followed the care instructions to the letter, and my claim was filed within their stated warranty window. Their response: "the specific issue reported falls outside what our warranty policy covers." When I asked what specifically that meant, or what would qualify, they wouldn't answer. The "Evercool" component is the name of the product. It's the entire reason to buy it. If it fails within the warranty period despite proper use, and they won't honor their own terms or even explain the denial, that's a serious problem — especially since I've personally recommended these to numerous perimenopausal and menopausal women and drove over $1,000 in sales to this company. $300 for sheets advertised as "EVERCOOL." The "EVER" part lasted about 6 months. Buyer beware.

A few things I don’t and do like about Rest as a new customer. 1) The sleeping eye mask is hardly “cooling”. It’s not much different than my other satin or silk eye masks. I enjoy how it covers the ears and wraps gently around the head. But I bought it for its cooling technology, and I'm disappointed, especially since it’s not cheap. 2) The sheets are cooling just as they should, which is great. I wasn't fully aware of how slippery or silky they are, so any wiggle or even just sitting on the bed will cause you to slip off! And the top sheet moves around under a comforter, which is annoying. 3) I bought a king-sized comforter, and it’s cooling. However, when layered with the top sheet, it’s really a big, slippery, sliding mess. I’m not sure how I’m going to deal with this “behavior” because it’s equally annoying. I’m not sure if I love, like, or deal with these purchases. Right now, I know I won’t buy anything beyond the two full sheet sets, comforter, and eye mask, which is a big purchase to begin with!

Disappointed With How a Defective Product Was Handled I was excited to try the Rest Cooling Comforter, but unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing. The comforter arrived with stains on it. I contacted customer service expecting a relatively simple replacement process. Instead, I was instructed to wash the comforter first to see if the stains would come out. When they did not, I then had to take and send photos of the comforter, box it back up, take additional photos of the packaged box, transport it to UPS, and ship it back. This has felt like an excessive amount of time and effort on my end with no compensation, credit, expedited replacement, or other gesture was offered for the inconvenience. Most frustrating of all, after completing every step requested of me and returning the defective comforter, I still do not have my replacement. I can’t fairly review the comforter itself yet, so this review is based on the customer service and replacement experience, which has fallen well below my expectations. When a customer receives a defective product, I believe the company should make resolving the problem as easy and seamless as possible—not turn it into a lengthy project for the customer.

I really wanted to love the Evercool Comforter. After reading all the glowing reviews, I had high expectations. It is incredibly soft, feels cool when you first touch it, and seems like a very nice quality comforter. Unfortunately, it simply did not keep me cool while sleeping. Obviously everyone's experience will be different, but it did not work for me. I contacted Rest only TWO DAYS after receiving it to request a return. The comforter was essentially brand new, and I provided photos showing its condition. Here’s where the cardboard box enters the story. I had thrown away the original Rest shipping box because, admittedly, I assumed that if the comforter didn't work for me during the advertised 30-day return window, I could simply package it securely in another appropriate box and return it. Wrong. Rest requires the original packaging in order to process a return. To be completely fair, that requirement IS stated toward the bottom of the order confirmation email. I missed it, and that's on me. But I still find it pretty incredible that one particular cardboard box can completely eliminate your ability to return an essentially brand-new product TWO DAYS after receiving it. *I offered to purchase another appropriate box myself and securely package the comforter for return. No. *I asked for an exception and provided the requested photos. No. Instead, Rest initially offered me 2,000 rewards points — essentially about $20 toward spending MORE money with Rest. Considering I was contacting them because I was unhappy with a nearly $150 purchase, that felt less like a resolution and more like an invitation to make another purchase. Frankly, it was a little insulting. After I expressed that, Rest offered a 20% partial refund of $27.36 while I keep the comforter. Since Rest had also taken the time to explain their passive cooling technology and how the cooling experience is supposed to work, I suggested another solution: rather than giving me the $27.36, provide the Evercool sheet set so I could try the complete cooling system and potentially make the comforter I was now stuck with actually work for me. I specifically offered this IN PLACE OF the partial refund, not in addition to it. That was declined as well. Their final offer remained $27.36. So here we are. I understand policies exist, and again, I missed the original-packaging requirement in the email. But there is a difference between having a policy and having absolutely no reasonable flexibility whatsoever. I contacted Rest two days after delivery with a practically new product and was willing to pay for appropriate replacement packaging myself. Rest prominently advertises a 30-day return window and a one-year warranty, which sounds fantastic. Just understand that the cardboard box apparently plays a surprisingly significant role in that 30-day return window. My biggest advice to anyone considering this comforter: don't assume all the rave reviews mean it will keep YOU cool, and for the love of God, KEEP THE BOX. Give that box a guest room. Feed it. Water it. Protect it at all costs until you're absolutely certain you're keeping the comforter. The comforter itself gets points for softness and quality. The cooling performance for me was disappointing. The return experience was considerably more disappointing.

I was about to place my order when I saw the extra charge for “protected delivery.” Does that mean if I don’t pay for extra insurance they will not stand behind their product if it is damaged or lost in shipping? I chose not to do business with a company that would either make their customer responsible for undelivered purchases, or if that isn’t the case, they are pushing an insurance product that isn’t needed, for their own purposes. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
