Support stopped replying after I queried them on the status of an old investment of mine in Obi. I was asking why, after SIX (yes SIX) years, I was still not able to see my assets showing up in Prime Trust (their custodian). I was told to wait as "It's taking us longer than expected to get a resolution to your inquiry." I followed up multiple times with the same email, and was ignored. I then tried again with a different email (to test the responsiveness of support) and was quickly replied to but couldn't be engaged with as they couldn't "seem to find a Republic account tied to this email address". Told them the email the account was associated with, and was once again ignored. I have since learned that Prime Trust has filed for bankruptcy, so it is very, very disappointing that Republic has remained silent on the matter and chosen instead to simply ignore me rather than acknowledge the situation and clarify the status of my investment.

From the outset, Republic demonstrated a fundamental lack of understanding of their own operational procedures. My query regarding the cancellation of SAFEs resulted in inconsistent responses, causing confusion and unnecessary delay in our acquisition process. Initially, they advised the need for an amendment to our SAFEs, which was later refuted by my legal counsel. Subsequently, Republic reversed their stance and insisted on the amendment, demonstrating a clear lack of internal coordination and procedural knowledge. However, the issue extends beyond this single instance. Throughout the entire funding process, I found their communication to be haphazard and unclear. Critical information was either poorly communicated or not communicated at all, leading to misunderstandings and last-minute changes that could have been avoided with better management. Moreover, their business model, which I had initially assumed would offer access to an extensive network of investors, turned out to be misleading. Republic does not bring their own network of investors to the table; rather, they rely on their clients to bring their networks to the platform. This has the unfortunate effect of shifting the responsibility of attracting investors onto the businesses seeking funding, while Republic benefits from a substantial commission. This experience has led me to question the value that Republic provides in the crowdfunding process. The hefty commission they charge seems unjustified given their lack of effective communication, procedural competence, and the absence of a proprietary investor network. In conclusion, I found Republic's services to be severely wanting in several critical areas. Their approach seems to lack the transparency, professionalism, and efficiency required in the crowdfunding industry. I would advise others to carefully consider these issues before choosing to engage with Republic.

You are very stringent on your accreditation proof and so I couldn't invest where I wanted to...not good..

These guys, dont even bother. I did my application as a Game Developer for a year and creating an actual product and you send in the application only to receive an email back (WITHIN 5 MINS) saying "After thorough and careful consideration, we don’t think a Republic campaign is a good fit for (Company Name) at the moment". Its a joke, they parade with arrogance, lie and and are not worth a single iota of your time. Seek investment elsewhere.
