Michelle, Thank you for reaching out to us. Travel insurance is a named peril insurance, meaning only covered events outlined in your policy are insured. The policy you purchased provides coverage for Non-Refundable prepaid payments or deposits for the vacation rental. In this case, a future travel credit is considered a refund under the policy. Unfortunately, your circumstance did not meet a covered reason under your policy and that was communicated to you in the explanation of benefits on 1/18/2023 . In response to your comment that claim stipulations were never disclosed when you bought the insurance, please note that when you purchased your policy, an email containing links to your confirmation of benefits and description of coverage was sent to you on 9/8/2022. If you weren’t happy with it, you had the opportunity then to cancel within the prescribed period for a full refund, provided no claim was filed. We understand you are disappointed with the outcome, however, we are required to adjudicate claims according to the terms of your policy.
