We got our refund, but it took months. They kept blaming COVID.

Multiple calls & emails for a simple claim filing. Kept getting requests for more information without any feedback. Had to call information request person twice then no word from claims adjuster for weeks. Then adjuster mistakenly stated not eligible for insurance. If didn’t know better, experience is typical run around that give insurers a bad name. Almost as if insurer wanted any way possible to frustrate insured to avoid paying claim.

Asking for my bank account statement to prove I paid for my insurance when I sent you a document which clearly stated I personally paid for the insurance through the villa rental company was totally unnecessary. It was almost as if you purposely made me jump through hoops so I would give up and not collect. My bank statement did not show the exact dollar amount of the travel insurance as it was paid for in total with the rental of the villa in St Barths. The bank statement provided you with nothing!!!! EVEN THE VILLA RENTAL COMPANY COULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR NONSENSE RULES. I finally got the check sometime last week. My trip took place the 1st week of December.

Based on your initial filing date of February 2nd, your claim was adjudicated within the average time frame, with payment being finalized February 28th. Update. After leaving a bad review they refunded. We didn’t know because no one contacted us. We changed from a 1 star to a 3 star because we shouldn’t have had to go through 2 people and a bad review to get results. Thank you though for the refund. It did clear the character of your company to us.

The communication is not clear and took a long time to reply. The claim was still not filed correctly after few months and many emails back and forth

I give 3 stars because of the hassle I had to go thru to prove how UNSAFE & how we could have had loss of life, even with everyone in the US who watch the weather & know where devastation of hurricanes have passed thru & it doesn't happen in just a day as hurricanes continue to devastate as they flood, etc for days. I felt it took way to long from filing our claim & all the documentation we had to retrieve on the path of the hurricane & our travel path to get this claim settled. THIS WAS TRULY EXHAUSTING!! To Red Sky, please don't put others thru this lengthy process when insurance companies collect millions in premiums, as we buy, counting on your company to help keep our families safe if we need to file a claim, as we needed to this time, in order for us to be safe & the sadness & unhappiness of our family not being able to take our trip.

The initial documentation submitted with your claim did not support our trip cancellation policy language as a covered reason.
