Breaking the law, Trading Standards involved.
I bought a chromecast described as having a us plug with a UK adaption. When it arrived I plugged it in and was instantly advised in the set up 'this chromecast was designed for a different country and may not be compatible with your WiFi network'. At this warning I investigated further and all over the Internet there are warnings of it just stopping working, that Google say all features won't work and even you have to set up a new VPN. I didnt want this hassle so contacted them to say I wanted to return it. Ive had nothing but hassle. They say it is described correctly, Ebay said it wasn't and said I could return it free as it wasn't as described. The communication is horrendous, email templates identical each time that even ebay noticed and commented on. I have informed them im returning it as not described, they reply and say if its not working it must be faulty and to return it, I reply its not faulty, im not going to use it as it was missing, 7 time ive said this and every reply is about it not working. They have finally changed the description but still states it is fully compatible in the UK, Google say its not. Trading Standards also agree they are breaking the law. I emailed them to advise Trading Standards are taking on my case from now, they replied to say they don't know why the item is not working, it must be faulty and theh have provided a royal mail returns label. They are fully aware I can't leave the house and have no help. They are the worst ebayer j have worked with in 15 years. While Trading Standards deal with them i will leave this warning for other to find, they do not care about UK laws or their customers, their replies are templates and not any help. I'm now out of pocketful I can stop others having the same problem from cheap stock they are aware the manufacturers even say its not suitable, they are on the wrong side of the law.
