Made things worse
The program starts off with telling the NPD individuals to prioritize themselves. Certain types of NPD already only prioritize themselves. NPD partner in this program went from awful to more awful. Any grip on reality that he had left, completely gone. Doubled down on ruining our young kids lives & mine. Prevented me from working in numerous ways until he Got me fired. he abuses to get out of any financial responsibility. Nobidy in the house was allowed any basic human NEEDS. His wants supersede human rights & safety. this was already a problem that just got worse. That doesn't go away just because he made me lose my job. Many other things also worsened. * Not the fault of the class* The class did nothing but teach him how to be a better con artist. How to sound reasonable while being abusive, manipulative, & coercive. Using pre-determined meaningless responses to stay calm while he's inflicting harm on others. The class & the people in it were used for more excuses of inexcusable behavior & to mimic those who are actually trying in order to appear as though he was trying to get better. The class does not address NPD in those who do not have trauma. That said, I do think the course would be helpful in NPD resulting from trauma for those actually interested in healing. Its unfortunate something can't be done to identify those using the course to cause more harm with no intention of getting better.

I'm really sorry to hear how painful your situation has been. 😥 What you're describing sounds incredibly difficult, especially with children involved, and no one deserves to experience abuse, coercion, or manipulation in their home. I want to be very clear about something: our program does not support or excuse abusive behavior in any form. If someone is using language from the course to manipulate, control, or harm others, that is a misuse of the material and is the opposite of what we teach. This program is designed for people who are genuinely motivated to take responsibility for their behavior and work toward change. Unfortunately, as with any self-development program, we cannot control how someone chooses to use the material outside of the program. Someone who is not truly committed to growth may attempt to mimic insight or accountability without actually practicing it. Your point about people learning to “sound reasonable” while continuing harmful behavior is something we take very seriously. Real healing requires consistent accountability, empathy for others, and measurable behavioral change over time, not just the right words. I also appreciate you acknowledging that the course may be helpful for people who are sincerely trying to heal. That is exactly who the program is built for. If a participant is using the program as justification for abusive behavior, that is deeply concerning and not aligned with the values of this community. Anyone experiencing abuse should prioritize their own safety and well-being. I genuinely wish you and your children safety and support moving forward. ❤️🩹
