RealDoll started in 1997, in a supply closet at a Halloween mask factory in California. The founder, a working sculptor, pictured a world where humans and technology could coexist and create together. The first figure took eight months, four hundred pounds of plaster, and a quiet collection of silicone samples stored under his desk. That figure became the foundation for everything the company has built since.Nearly thirty years later, RealDoll products are still designed, sculpted, painted, assembled, and finished by hand inside the Las Vegas studio — by an in-house team of artists, fabricators, engineers, and roboticists. RealDoll has never been an adult company. It is an art studio that became a materials science company, then a robotics and AI company — in that order.
