Parents might think that not much can be accomplished in 5 weeks. Let me be the first to say, I was that parent and I was completely wrong. My child not only has better reading skills but a better understanding of what he’s reading. I was really impressed with the program and had not hesitations in re-signing him up again.

Debbie
My grandson had a great start in Kindergarten. He was one of the first to learn the words for the year. He was able to sound out his letters with ease. He didn't struggle at all. Great start. Loves and proud that he can read. He doesn't shy away from any word, he'll keep sounding it out till he gets it. Well worth every penny. My granddaughter started second grade and is ahead in reading. She has had 3 years at the Reading Inst. However the second year she went, the teacher didn't seem to have enough patience with her. First and third year were great. She is ADHD and the teachers should be taught how to handle those children. Her third year teacher was awesome, he said he loved her enthusiasm. All teachers need to be like him.

Hi Debbie, I appreciate your review. I'm delighted that our programs worked for both of your grandchildren and got them off on the right foot with reading. Thanks for your feedback on the teachers, too. We train all of our program teachers to be warm and direct with students and to meet them where they are. We'll use your feedback to continue improving our classroom instruction. - John Boyd, Director of Instruction

Perla
I loved the class and so did my daughter. My only complaint is that it is pricey and while I can afford it, it limits the opportunities for other students to attend.
Response from Institute of Reading DevelopmentApr 30, 2019
Hi Perla, thanks for your review. I'm delighted that your daughter enjoyed our reading program. As a teacher of these programs, I'm always excited at how much progress my students make. The true value is that the students end up making daily progress with their reading throughout the summer. We strive to make our programs accessible for most families through our educational partnerships. We want as many students as possible to enjoy a program, just like your daughter did!
