Awesome program

This reading program engaged both my children. My incoming 9th grader actually enjoyed the outside book in this program. My incoming 3rd grader felt she learned many tricks to reading and answering questions. She even was trying to educate me on concepts she learned.

My 12 year old has always been an advanced reader, so I questioned how much this program would benefit someone like him as he heads into 7th grade. However, his first love is fiction (although he does enjoy sports biographies and books about historical events/figures), so the idea of him learning to read faster while still maintaining, or even increasing, comprehension for textbooks and nonfiction material appealed to us enough to sign him up. We like to give him some sort of instructional time in the summer just to prevent as much academic slide as is common for students, and this seemed like a great thing to try at this stage when he'll be getting into more demanding textbook material this next school year. It was a great decision- his reading speed increased A LOT, which I didn't think possible since he didn't start out a slow reader, and he learned how to improve note-taking and study skills for textbooks, and increased comprehension to boot! The promises of the program can certainly be believed based on our experience. We're happy with the skills he took away from the course and recognize that it was money well spent. If I had a child who struggles at all with reading, I'd be even more adamant that this course is important and beneficial. But even for strong readers, you'll see improvements and new skills they don't learn in traditional classrooms, which will have definite pay-off through high school and even college as the demand for stronger study skills increases and the material becomes so much more challenging. We also spoke with other parents of students in his class, whose kids aren't as strong in reading, and they were equally as pleased with the results their children experienced. We can confidently recommend this program highly for students of all levels, and in any grade level since starting with it even earlier would likely bring more results by this age if you continued to expose them to it as they age. Thank you to the Institute for Reading Development for challenging my child, strengthening his confidence, and improving his opportunities for academic success in middle school and beyond!

Our son enjoyed the live and online sessions. They weren't too hard or too time-consuming for busy summer weeks. The teacher was prepared and her professional experience was impressive. She made the class activities interesting. Each Sunday our son expressed interest in returning the following week! Thanks for offering this program.

This was my grandson first time in this program. In his short period of time in the program. We can see and hear the difference in his reading abilities. Thank you!

She got excited to go to class each week and quickly made friends. She had no trouble with any of the learning. I like these classes because they made learning fun and they keep her in the learning mode during the summer. They have been a tremendous help to get and keep her at grade level reading.

The summer session reading program was amazing!! Before my child went he was not interesting in reading to much. After going to the program it does read more than prior to going to the program. His fluency and comprehension is so so much better. The teacher that was teaching my child she was OUTSTANDING!! If you are looking for a program to help your child and/or children with reading I truly recommend this program!! It was an awesome experience for my child!!!

Addy truly enjoyed her classroom learning time and also the online teaching experience. Her teacher was friendly and professional and we believe Addy benefited from the one on one time with the teacher. We look forward to enrolling her again
