Our grandson is going into 6th grade and has reading comprehension challenges. We keep him a couple of days a week and have always spent a few hours doing "school work" during the summer. When we received promotional material for the Univ. of St. Thomas program I called and it was suggested we enroll him in the 5th grade level program instead of the 6th through 8th, which we did. Although the program isn't inexpensive, it was worth it. The instructor was full of fun energy but had educational and discipline expectations. There was also homework (about 2 hours a week of reading and videos), but Caleb never complained. I believe he is a better reader and considers reading more fun after attending these classes. We recommend this program.

This was a great start to our daughters lifetime to learning to read. Simple interactive online skills were fun for her to play and learn. Found the insight from the teacher to be very helpful and encouraging for continued learning.

My son really enjoyed the class. After struggling to maintain a B average in reading last year in 5th grade, this program gave him confidence and the tools to begin 6th grade on a more advanced level. Thanks Roxie

This is a fun and interactive way to introduce letters, phonics, and reading. My son looked forward to the lessons, both in person and online. I would highly recommend the program!

Great experience for my daughter who has ADHD and was considered a “remedial” reader in her public school. The hybrid delivery (in class plus online) allowed me to participate and encourage my daughter. She now thinks of herself as an adequate reader. She doesn’t love reading yet, but she’s getting closer!

This is a wonderfully organized way of keeping a reluctant reader like my son reading in the summer! This was our second summer with this program and this time I also enrolled him in the upcoming 12 week session in the fall!

The summer reading class was a great way to challenge my daughter during summer vacation and to keep her on top of her reading skills. I would definitely enroll her again next year. The homework and class time was not overbearing where she resented doing school work in the summer either. The teacher was great!
