Great program for beginner readers! Enthusiastic instructors, great support material, my son really enjoyed it!

Wow! What an amazing program!! I wished it lasted longer! My 4 year old was so engaged in the on-line and in-class activities!! I loved learning new ways to engage her in books by doing dramatizations, identifying her favorite parts, and enhancing her vocabulary!! If you want to help your child increase their love for reading, this program is a MUST!!!

My son has a developmental delay, so he took the class for entering kindergartners even though he is entering first grade. He enjoyed the class and the online lessons as well. As a parent, I found it very helpful to sit in the class with him and supervise the online lessons, as this helped me to reinforce the lessons at home. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this program. In five weeks my son went from not reading at all, to learning the concept of sounding out words and being able to recognize a handful of sight words.

You have to know going into this program that there is a lot of homework to do and a big commitment from both the parents and the child are necessary. The classroom work is only the beginning and helps to get the kids engaged in the process of reading. The real hard work happens when they get home and need to read 4 chapter books in the 5 week class period. My son is a reluctant reader, so not only does he lack confidence in his abilities but he has to be talked into doing the reading (by talked into, I mean bribed or cajoled). We found that reading to him and having him repeat what was read worked best for building his confidence - he understood the story, so it was easier to both sound out and reason out what the new words might be. He loved the online portion and was always very proud of himself when he could answer all of the questions correctly. I would definitely recommend the program to friends but would make sure to emphasize the time commitment that is needed to get value out of it.

I was a little doubtful once a week and some online work would make a big difference for my struggling reader, but I saw a significant difference in her confidence and reading skills. It was a great boost to prep her for second grade.

Definitely worth it, my little girl worked hard at keeping her skills up with these fun and lovely lessons. She really enjoyed the lessons. The books picked are also great, interesting picks and she's enjoyed adding them to her reading section.
