I initially had some concerns about this course preparing my soon to be 5th grader for the upcoming challenges of the next grade level. However, if you have any concern, please reach out to the program. My son has had extra help with fluency from his reading teacher and a private zoom lesson with the writing coach. They will go out of their way to make sure that they can do everything that is possible in the 5 week period to help support your child with the content. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because when I first called customer service, the person pretended to be a curriculum specialist and did not have the credentials to discuss my specific concerns about the length of writing that students are asked to complete, the level of rigor of the quiz questions, or written the assignments. She also could not answer my questions as to how they measure student success with the program. As a teacher, I have some suggestions about how to better align the curriculum with what is happening in the modern-day classroom, such as reading multiple texts and being required to cite evidence. However, this program is designed as a reading development program, and I feel that it is helping my children build a stronger foundation for reading. My 4 year old loves "bookman" and "wordy", and is beginning to read CVC words. Every person involved has been extremely responsive to my questions and understand what is like to be a concerned parent and a customer.

the online sessions were good, the online content was good but my student found them kind of boring. I wish there were were some kind of games or other fun activity to engage or entertain students so they were more excited to do the lessons during the week (between classes).

The need for this type of learning is more important than ever because of the lost of in school instruction.

My son enjoyed the class and it improved his comprehension. He also enjoyed the live class discussions.

A great program that helps you rediscover the joy of reading and gives you a game plan for tackling those dense text books as well as other tough articles.

I had 2 students 4th and 6th grade in the summer reading program. This was a new program for us. I believe with practice and being consistent in going over the lessons and skills taught my students will improve. The writing and how to read textbook portions were really impressive lessons that I wish I had in school. My son enjoyed and will benefit from the speed reading skill.

My granddaughter Laylah U. Pope enjoyed learning new words and participating with the story books. She really enjoyed the teacher picking her when she raised her hand to answer a question.
