As a teacher with a Masters in Special Education and a Reading Certificate, I was very skeptical when this Summer Reading class was moved online due to Covid-19. I called and spoke to a representative, the materials were mailed to us early for review, and I was able to go online to review the online classroom being presented. I was so excited to see that the Institute of Reading Development spent lots of time creating a logical sequence to learning, using colorful graphs, repetitive games, and crazy Bookman to interact with!

My kids enjoyed the program online even thou they wished it was in person..The teachera were great and helped the kids when needed.

My boy had such a great experience this summer during his reading class. The teacher, Mr. Zach was just amazing, knowledgeable, patient, kind, fun and so helpful when we had a question. Please, can I steal Mr. Zach and take him to my kid's school? :)

The reading program was a great experience for my son. It has provided him with knowledge that will enable him to endure a successful fourth grade.

This class was very beneficial for my rising first grader. She enjoyed the live online class time from an experienced educator and enjoyed listening to the online sessions in-between the weekly classes. This reading program is a great start for all level beginner readers. I am so glad she took this class as our granddaughter has become a more confident and fluent reader. The books kept her interest and were fun to read.

My son took reading classes with the Institute of Reading Development at UNC Charlotte the last four years. Every summer, he is eager to start a new reading class due to the quality of the instructional materials provided as well as the instructor's engagement.

Mr. Vic was a great teacher and involved all the children and kept them engaged in the live classes. My son looked forward to the weekly sessions as well as the interactive online videos with Bookmark and the games. Thanks so much for this wonderful program!
