Lack of assistance and impossible sign up process
Our small business was looking into Ramp.com for our company's cards and expense stuff – it came recommended, which is why we even bothered. But honestly, the initial hurdle of just getting approved? It was a mess. Seriously complex and, frankly, a bit baffling. We're not a fly-by-night operation. We sent them everything they asked for: bank statements galore, official state paperwork, even our website info. You name it, we provided it. And yet, they just couldn't seem to verify us. It was like hitting a brick wall over and over. This whole inability to confirm a legitimate business, even with all that documentation, definitely made us raise an eyebrow about their internal processes. To top it off, the communication wasn't exactly sunshine and rainbows. At times, it felt more pushy than supportive, especially when we were just trying to navigate their complicated verification steps. You'd hope that during onboarding – you know, when you're trying to win someone over – they'd be a bit more helpful. When it became clear this wasn't going anywhere, there was a sense of relief on our end. That's probably not how you want a potential customer to feel! This whole experience felt like a real lack of customer focus right from the start. Based on what we went through, I'd have a hard time recommending Ramp.com to other businesses looking for a smooth and supportive experience with their corporate cards and expenses. That overly complicated approval and the not-so-great communication were big red flags for us.
