DO NOT RELY ON THIS COMPANY TO PROVIDE LIVE FOOD FOR YOUR ANIMALS. I have been a customer of this company for 17 years, and I can honestly say I have never been this disappointed in a business. This year, I have received more dead shipments than live ones, especially when ordering live food. And every time it happens, I’m the one left paying additional shipping costs. This has become an ongoing and incredibly frustrating cycle. I have begged and pleaded with this company to change how they package and ship live orders, especially during the summer when extreme temperatures can easily kill live feeders. Their response—which I have in writing via email—was that they could not find insulated boxes or cold packs to help with the summer shipping conditions. I’m sorry, but how is that acceptable for a company that ships live food? Styrofoam and other insulated packaging materials are not difficult to find. Neither are cold packs or cryo packs. If you are going to ship live animals’ food, proper temperature protection should be a basic part of your shipping process, not something the customer has to beg you to provide. What makes this even worse is what has happened repeatedly after the initial dead-on-arrival shipments. I have received a dead order, had a replacement sent, only for the replacement to arrive dead as well. I have then been sent another batch of worms, only to have that shipment arrive dead too. I have had animals die while dealing with this ongoing situation, and I cannot put into words how devastating and frustrating that has been. These are not just products sitting on a shelf—they are food that my animals depend on. On top of the losses, I have wasted a significant amount of money on shipping over and over again, only to receive more dead worms. After 17 years of loyalty, I expected this company to care about my concerns and, at the very least, make an effort to correct the problem. Instead, I feel completely ignored and incredibly disappointed. This most recent situation was the final straw. They did not even contact me to explain that they would not be honoring the refund/reshipment I expected. Instead, they went against their own stated store policy and refunded me for the worms while deducting the shipping cost from an order that arrived dead on arrival. After 17 years as a customer, this is how I am being treated. I cannot recommend this company to anyone who relies on reliable, live feeder shipments for their animals. I have given them countless opportunities to fix this problem, and instead I have continued to lose money, lose live food, and—most painfully—lose animals. I am beyond disappointed. Seventeen years of being a loyal customer should have meant more than this.

I was surprised to see Rainbow Mealworms had no reviews here, so I thought I would take the time to endorse this company. This company was recommended to me by my friend who is an avid gecko caretaker. This company goes above and beyond to make sure their customers are taken care of and offer a large variety of feeders and accessories. At first, I was unsure about buying live feeders online. I will say that they are absolutely a real company and I have successfully picked up every order. They back themselves by refunding the customer if the shipment doesn't workout as long as you choose to pick up at a carrier facility. This happened to me before and I provided photos and received a refund as well as a rush replacement! This company has extremely transparent contact methods. I communicated with customer service over text message! I can't name other companies that offer that kind of customer support. They really made sure everything went right with my order. My recent order was fruit flies and meal worms, everything arrived healthy! Even living in a city, my options for healthy feeders are low. Finding XS mealworms or fruit flies that are ALIVE at pet stores is very difficult. The shipping price may turn away some customers, but I am telling you it is worth it, especially being able to buy healthy feeders in bulk. Very happy with this company and they will get my return business.
