Quizlet has been pushing the paywall features for years now, even back when I was in high school. Now, the wall has come crashing down and has cut off the "learning" and "quiz" features, the entire point of using the website in the first place. I hope the corporate suits see the negative reviews, but something tells me they'll go the way of Games Workshop or Nestle and pretend nothing is wrong.

While it was previously a very useful tool, Quizlet has since moved into the business model of "charge for everything". The Learn and Test functions, the entire point of Quizlet, are no longer free. This means that it is almost entirely useless unless you pay. This greed is ruining the study programs of millions of students at all academic levels.

What was originally a great studying tool particularly for it's learn feature has now been entirely ruined with the fact that we must be charged to learn the flashcards we have made ourselves. Most people I know who used quizlet used the learn function, and now we will all have to go elsewhere - a shame. Has ruined not only it's own reputation with this greed for money, but countless students' study regimes at different academic levels that used this as a tool to help them improve their grades. I though quizlet cared about helping students - not anymore.

Quizlet limits the amount you can study because they want you to pay for premium. I understand the need for a subscription service, but this removes options that should be free, and you can only learn a certain amount since you only get a few "rounds" for each set. Which means that if you want to study and the main resource your teacher gave you is a Quizlet, you just have to hope that the little you were able to study is enough. Repitition is key in learning and Quizlet restricts that. This is very disappointing, and students who cannot afford to spend the subscription fee must use a different study platform.

I used to love Quizlet but they make you pay to use the learn and the test feature which are the most useful ones. So now there is not even a purpose for it anymore.

As an AP student that relies on structured study tools to prep for exams of all types, this website USED to be a godsend. I loved the learn feature because I would use it over and over again to make sure I drilled the information. Now the website is asking for a subscription after a mere 5 rounds of the learn feature. It's disappointing when you realize Quizlet's target users are in school as minors or in school as tuition paying students. We don't have money to pay for subscriptions. We loved quizlet because of its accessible and free resources. I'm aware that keeping a popular website up is expensive but at least ask for help? Ask for donations? Damn. This really sucks.

Also, as an extra bonus after you pay them you might end up being downgraded to a free, basic account, which is surely a dream come true for many users. Their elusive support will be looking into the issue, of course, and you might even get a reply (all in good time, there’s no need to hurry) if you’re lucky. In short, for those who fancy being treated like a joke, it’s one of the best companies ever. One may call them pathetic scammers, yet I think it’s unfair. I truly believe they are just trying their best to provide the worst service possible. Keep up your great work, Quizlet guys! After all, you’re nearly there!
