Expedition Leader Jake was a godsend - his ability to adapt on the fly and search out amazing opportunities along the way made my trip such a memorable experience. The ship (Ultramarine) is beautiful and just the right size. The team made sure we got to enjoy the zodiacs every change we could. The guests were organized fluidly and communication was always top notch. I don’t have a single complaint! Special kudos to Melissa and also to Ross, whose humour, presentation skills and historical knowledge went a long way in providing the best possible guest experience!

Our trip through the Canadian Arctic and Labrador/NFLD was a fantastic trip of a lifetime. The crew was friendly, highly qualified, and very organized. The expedition leader went over and above to provide exciting experiences, even including new destinations. The cabin and food were fabulous, communication from the leader was superb. The ship itself is luxurious yet highly functional. I would highly recommend traveling with Quark on the Ultramarine.

Starting with an altered itinerary missing the most anticipated part of the trip for many of us your team pivoted and provided us with a great trip in spite of this. Landings and opportunities provided were well thought out and were rewarding. The helo, zodiac, and shore stop pod were done very professionally and safely. I will be going on another of your trips in the future and will recommend your company to others

This was a new itinerary and just the one I wanted to follow. The expedition team made every effort to make sure we had the best experience possible. The trip itinerary was altered substantially for the beginning of the trip, and I felt that the communications from Cork were not transparent and detailed enough. That said, I understand the quirk made huge effort to make the trip successful, and the team leader made extraordinary efforts to pack in as much as possible. The expedition team has a whole was super. Several of the presentations made by three or four of the team members in particularwere outstanding. I would say the average age of the Guest roster was higher than I would’ve expected. This might be due to over emphasis on the quality of the ship and the dining as opposed to the expedition nature of the trip. I mentioned this because I think perhaps many guests were not an expecting an expedition oriented trip. All in all well done.

Great people, service and they never let you down

It was a 12 day expedition of which nine days were on the beautiful Ocean Explorer. The expedition team and all crew were all welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable. The expedition team included many field-specific experts with a wealth of polar experience. Accommodation is comfortable, cabin stewards very attentive and the food plentiful, varied and excellent. But the standout experiences were the expeditions on zodiac boats and land hikes around the fjords of East Greenland. Wildlife sightings exceeded my expectations given the time of year and I managed to capture very good northern lights photos on three occasions with just an iPhone. The visit to an Inuit village was another highlight and the scenery throughout the trip was breathtaking. This is not a cruise for sitting around (although you could do that). It rewards effort and participation.
