We unfortunately decided to "upgrade" our stay in…
We decided to "upgrade" our stay in Antalya, and we were blown away by the presentation of the "king and Qinn rooms" on their website, oh how time has ravaged the rooms. We arrived to a pleasant reception, and at this point we were very exited to see our "top of the range room". To say we are disappointed is an understatement. Initially we were impressed with the size of the room, arriving later in the day and realistically just used it to shower, change and head out to eat. We began to realise the next day that things were NOT as we expected, we are fairly seasoned travellers, with relative experience of "hotel stay" and historically would expect to pay around £1200:00 for a "decent" room for 2, as previously said, we decided to upgrade! This is definitely not an upgrade, although the "amenities" are more than adequate (decent shower room and bed, good size TV's in both the living and bedrooms) EVERYTHING ELSE was far below what you would expect for the money we paid (a spot over £2000:00 UK) although clean, it felt VERY TIRED and we found ourselves considering moving hotels (yes that bad) the hot tub looked like it was installed in the 70s, the privacy cloth around it was torn and tatty, the tub itself was tarnished, the wooden surround was faded and chipped with numerous bare nails sticking out creating what we considered unsafe for " casual use". The furniture inside was old, tatty with cigarette burns in all of the sofas, the paint is chipped and dated, the utility cupboard in the living room was chipped and grotty looking (although still practical). The view from the balcony is fantastic, if you don't look left, right or down due to unkempt land to the right, with a derelict building falling apart, completely covered in graffiti and poorly maintained roof's to the front. All in all a very poor environment that in escense, completely spoiled our experience in Antalya. Please take my advice, I believe you should get what you pay for (not a lot to ask in this day and age) we do not feel that the Qinn room (advertised as one of their best rooms and the one we stayed in for 7 nights) is anywhere near the quality you should expect for the money we paid. In my humble opinion, avoid at all cost. Karl, UK traveler.
