Don’t do the nursing program
Don’t do the nursing program. My wife who is a well respected and award winning LPN. She tried purdue global (formally known as Kaplan university) through her work. A go to school while going to work and we will pay for it type of deal. We all know nursing school is hard and she has done it before but this was absolutely terrible, unreasonable, and their expectations was unrealistic. They offered her no help. They didn’t credit her anywhere near as much as they should have for passed college credits. They were constantly threatening to kick everyone out if they failed one thing. You had to always get a 85-90% to pass. They won’t accept late work. They will drive you 2 hours away for a 12 hour clinical and some days they will schedule a class the same day as a clinical and make it your responsibility to deal with the consequences of missing that class (a 2 page paper). They promise to help you but no help was offered. They will not work around your work schedule even though they are participating in degree through your work program where you are required to work at least 36 hours a week and they have commercial after commercial flexibility they are for “working adults”. It’s a lie. Most programs are being ran/taught by current students in Purdue Global pursuing their own degrees. So not only can’t they give you any help like they promised and make you work around them and their schedules, I don’t think they can. I hate what they did to my wife and her self worth. She breezed through school in the past and is very knowledgeable. She is RN in all but name but these people set her up for failure pure and simple. Even if you are an established nurse they will treat you like trash coming off of the street, and instead of offering any help when your stating to struggle that disrespectful attitude intensifies. No one will treat you like your a nurse that works 12 hour shifts on the weekends, cares for 4 young children, with a spouse that is also in school with no help from anyone else. Instead they will treat you like you are a punk kid that decided to play video games all night and eat cheesy poofs instead of doing the home work. Go do your nursing school somewhere else. Even if your work is paying for it. It’s not worth it. They demand way too much if you are in fact a working adult. The work load when shared with our friends that are nurses and doctors have even made them say that is inappropriate and they setting people up for failure.
