Total Scam
In February 2026, after a 90-minute phone call with their sales representative, I signed a €3,190 contract to distribute my press release to targeted media outlets and journalists. The result? They delayed the distribution of my press release for two weeks, claiming that internal preparation work was required. Looking back, I strongly suspect that this delay was mainly intended to justify the astronomical price of their service. On the day of distribution, at 9 a.m., I received an email containing a link to track the results and any potential coverage of my press release. 946 publications reported, but nothing more than automated copy-and-paste reproductions of my text on news aggregator websites! Some platforms published the exact same text dozens of times. My press release ended up being distributed across 31 countries, far beyond the five markets we had originally targeted. Despite these impressive statistics, the actual results were extremely disappointing: no original journalistic articles identified, no measurable external traffic, and no noticeable SEO benefits. The copied content was published on pages buried four, five, or even six levels deep within the websites. No clickable links, so don't even get me started on DoFollow or NoFollow! According to my own checks, the six recorded clicks were simply from me visiting the published pages! I had also tested a similar service provider that was ten times cheaper, and they refunded me after I complained. With Cision, it was the complete opposite: after disputing the invoice and requesting an amicable resolution, I received payment reminders, followed by debt collection demands with additional fees. I feel completely misled about the true nature of this service. In my opinion, this is nothing short of a commercial scam!
